“Oblivion” the Brutal Shift @ritualpurification double cassette split dropped Wednesday on @_pressortape_ I couldn’t be happier with how this idea came together. Massive shoutouts to Jarrett and Will. You fucking rule. As for the material l…. Earth shattering/ apocalyptic noise/ambience. Lack of faith in humanity. (Side note: side B of each tape can be played separately but is also encouraged to be played simultaneously) Pressor is out of copies but there will be distros in the coming week who will have copies. Until then artist copies are available (dm me if interested) Jarrett as well.

𝗕𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁 + 𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗨𝗔𝗟 𝗣𝗨𝗥𝗜𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 • 𝙊𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙤𝙣 “a harsh ambient, ritual diptych” Out now on @_pressortape_ When I first reached out to Alex about doing this collab, I couldn’t have imagined that it would all come together as well as it did. Brutal Shift is such sick incarnation of his work and our collaboration for 𝙊𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙤𝙣 is a heavyweight reckoning. Like Alex said, “it sounds like the world ending”. Unlike a traditional split, this double cassette release has solo work from each of us on our respective A Sides, but our B Sides were created collaboratively. The B Sides are designed to be played simultaneously from two stereo systems — as loud as possible — for the full, intended listening experience. This thing is a beast. Mad respect to Alex for the collab and much gratitude to Will for the suggestion to build it in dialogue with each other — and for the absolutely stunning packaging. Each tape set comes wrapped in vintage Japanese textile, ribbon, and embroidered patches interweaving our names. This was announced recently and everyone has been telling me how surprised they are they didn't hear about this sooner. I'm surprised I haven't bragged about this release much yet myself. It's an honor to have worked with one my favorite cut up dudes. Grew up listening to his tapes and watching his sets on YouTube. Its nice when you meet your heros and they don't suck lol. Thank you to @_pressortape_ for their excellent work putting this out. Have your check books at the ready January 8th.

MASTER/MIX 2024: Here are 40 records released in the last 12 months that I worked on. I might have forgotten a few more... Anyway, thank you everyone for trusting me, it truly means a lot to me. Of course, there are some serious gems in the pipes for 2025.

New noise, electronic, experimental, etc. arrivals for 7/27/24: 1. Following the release of the well-received Critical Fabric - Yellow Series, Handmade Birds returned with the Blue Series, this time focusing on grindcore and black metal sounds from the likes of Last Days Of Humanity, Warlock Corpse, and more. 2. Orange Milk stocked us with copies of the new Morgan Garrett “Purity” LP, a wild trip of nü-nü metal and industrial sounds. 3. Following the Black Leather Jesus show at the shop in late May, in usual fashion we picked up a large swath of BLJ, Richard Ramirez, Deadline Recordings, and related items from the group. 4. We also picked up a stack of items from Summer Interlude Records at the Black Leather Jesus show, such as a Skullflower LP, a Deterge/Moonbeam Terror 7”, and more. 5. And wouldn’t you know it, we also grabbed some stuff from Petite Soles/Begin Hostilities at the BLJ show including releases from Closing, Cloning, L’heure Bleue, and more. 6. How much merch can be purchased at one show you say? The answer is seemingly a lot, as we also grabbed stuff from Fusty Cunt at the BLJ show including an Interracial Sex/Bacillus LP, Sarin Snow LP, an AhlzDeterge LP, and more. 7. PRESSORTAPE, one of our favorite newer labels, sent over incredibly-presented cassette releases from Forest Defenders, New Grasping Machina, Knurl, and Scathing. 8. Black Artifact stocked us with CD and cassette titles from En Nihil/Kadaver, Night Foundation, Cementation Anxiety, and many more. 9. Throne Heap sent over copies of a new disc from Sewer Election & Incipientium titled “Sorceress”. 10. Lastly, we grabbed some LPs and tapes from drone duo Tongue Depressor after their great set in Yellow Springs this past June. Check out the link in bio to purchase via Discogs and direct orders are always more than welcome too, so get in touch! Thank you for supporting a brick-and-mortar business.

\ arrived, via Satatuhatta: ‘Reduction Division’by KNURL released may 2024 by Pressortape “Knurl offers a confident, powerful slab of harsh noise generated from the textural explorations of the material world that have characterized recording and performance. Working from glass, stainless steel, and chain, the tracks vary from gestural and spacious to suffocatingly dense. Dynamic, claustrophobic, physical noise. Pro-Duped & Printed C40, Metal Sticker, Shipping Box, Broken Glass, Sash Chain, Tie Wire.” source: https://www.instagram.com/p/C7jrj8GJ93r/ https://pressortape.bandcamp.com/album/reduction-division photos by mk
