Race Commentary - BIG HALF MARATHON

Shout out to all the runners who ran Big Half and big up the guys for their performances 🙌🏾

Lost for words. This day will definitely be saved to the core memory file.

Before this event, I told all my peers I was going to get 1:18 no matter what, with absolutely no belief behind it. I was just chatting wass. I had about 50% belief in myself that I could actually do it 🤣. But after some deep manifestation, believing it was possible, believing in my training and believing in myself, I gained more and more confidence.

That 50% turned into 100% by the time I got to the start line. I’m usually scared and nervous at the start of a race. This time, I was buzzing and excited 🤣. I was chatting to runners mid-race, having fun and laughing. At some points, I didn’t even realise I was racing 🤣. I was running purely on vibes and joy 🤣.

The crowd was electric, the sun was shining and runners were chasing their goals. What more could I have asked for? It was the perfect race.

Teared up a bit at the end because of all the excitement, but we ain’t gonna talk about that too tough 😅🤣.

Seeing everyone turn up, back each other, and celebrate every effort was the best part. Everyone had their own goals, but no one ran alone. Race days just hit different when you’re surrounded by your people. 😮‍💨❤️‍🔥

London Saucony 10K

Well, that was fucking fun.

Came into this race with absolutely zero expectations and not a clue what to expect. Never raced the 10K distance before, so decided to do what I do best and just run lol. No race plan, no specific training - just me, my legs and an extremely enjoyable course.

These past two months post London Marathon have been all about falling back in love with running for me. No structure. No restrictions. Just weeks of easy miles soaking up the sun. Judging by these flicks, safe to say that love has returned.

Nowhere near peak fitness, which makes me even more proud of this effort. Felt real strong out there. Having this as a baseline bodes extremely well for future performances.

Massive s/o to the boy @jaysurrey and the @saucony_eu team for the call-up. Huge s/o to everyone that came out to support also - you lot are the reason these experiences are so damn enjoyable.

The 10K distance will most definitely be seeing me again. For now, it’s back to marathon training and focusing on the big races ahead.
