I’ve been exploring the wild magic swamp of The Forgotten God, a cosy and chaotic D&D 5e sandbox adventure from @_r_n_w_ 💚 Now live on Kickstarter!

There is SO much here that caught my GM brain. First of all, it’s gorgeous. The Forgotten God is packed with beautiful illustrations, and Dryfoot Hill feels like such a colourful, characterful place to explore. There are hand-drawn maps, rich locations to discover, and some new, brilliant subclasses and species created especially for this setting. Slime Shepherd Ranger taming the oozes of the swamp? Yes please!

There’s a lot going on in The Forgotten God, but I really like how easy it is to get stuck in. One feature I love is the GM Checklist for each act: a short, accessible bullet-point list of the important things to keep in mind as you play. As a GM with chronic illness, brain fog can hit me HARD, and I can see this being such a useful tool to keep me focused on the fun stuff instead of worrying about forgetting something important.

There is so much cosy, playful, whimsical weirdness to sink into. The Forgotten God makes me want to poke around, talk to everyone, and find out what’s waiting around the next swampy corner.

The Kickstarter is live now, so if a cosy, chaotic swamp adventure sounds like something you’d like to bring to your table, head over to @_r_n_w_ to find out more!

AD/GIFTED REVIEW COPY: I was kindly sent an advance PDF of The Forgotten God for review. All thoughts are my own.
Thank you @_r_n_w_ 💚

The Forgotten God - a full D&D 5e adventure module (🤩), that was funded on Kickstarter within its first hour (🤯), and available to back for 2 more weeks (🥳)!

The Forgotten God - created by @_r_n_w_ (😍), the adventure includes treasure hunting (🪎), learning forgotten lore of the city Dryfoot Hill (🗺️), and war between political parties and rebels fighting to take back their home (⚔️).

The Forgotten God - the first D&D adventure module in a loooong time that makes me crave to be behind the GM screen again (🥹), because it makes me feel seen as a queer woman to have NPCs written as queer as well(🏳️‍🌈), because I know I’m not the only one who wants to do more with her game than just fight and kill (🤭).

I’ll be honest, this module has hit such a spot in my heart, I had to include all of the caption starters I drafted up, because they all highlight how amazing this module is. And I figured, if I include all of them, hopefully they’ll hit a cord with at least a few other people and maybe they’ll go to Kickstarter and back the book too 😅. So, if you don’t want to read a long caption and just stop here: at least go check out the Kickstarter page for The Forgotten God, please and thanks.

But if you do wanna read an even longer caption, here’s a bit more about me and why I love this module … (I ran out of caption space, please see the pinned comment 😅😂😉)

*These thoughts are mine and mine alone. Review given in exchange for an advanced copy of the module*

Are you looking for a cosy, sandbox 5e & 5.5e adventure for your next campaign?

The Forgotten God by @_r_n_w_ is currently on kickstarter, and fully funded in 1 HOUR! What a refreshing new addition to the world of indie supplements for D&D!

As someone who identifies as non-binary and queer, it is so important that we support those creators in this space, and I know Rose & Niels feel the same. When they asked if I’d be interested in receiving an early version to read & review, I leapt at the chance.

This adventure is so much fun! Not only are this the story, characters and artwork so cosy (and not a single ounce of AI!), there are so many ways this sandbox adventure could go. There’s chaos, secret plots, revolution, the list could go on…

I really love that there are GM goals throughout this. As a GM, sometimes you can get overwhelmed in reading ahead to make sure your players reach the story beats they need. Having these goals are great, concise reminders that are easy to reference during sessions.

A couple more weeks left on the kickstarter, and there are so many stretch goals already unlocked!

Transparency: an early review copy & assets were sent to me for review. I was not paid for this and views are all my own.

I am obsessed with how wonderful this new D&D campaign book from @_r_n_w_ is! It's 5E compatible (both 2014 and 2024 versions) and is giving whimsical swampy chaos in the best way.

I couldn’t fit all the things I’m enjoying about it into a reel, so here are some more highlights:

🧭 The maps, handouts and other ephemera. I would expect nothing less having seen the awesome stationery and paper craft R-N-W make, but the miscellaneous bits and bobs you can print out for this campaign are next level. Papercraft final battle anyone?

🎨 The artwork! I’ve touched on this in my video but didn’t want to give too much away. There is the most beautiful and characterful artwork in this book and it’s so refreshing to see that not a scrap of AI has been used anywhere!

🧱 The worldbuilding. Everything feels so rich and lived-in and painstakingly thought out, from the NPCs, to the fact that literally everywhere you go has a menu, price list, even a library card and code of conduct. There are so many little details you can choose to add in if you like.

📚 Personal fave location: your players can visit a magic library in a pocket dimension. Magical books awaiting through a portal? Everything I have ever dreamed of!! ✨

Full disclosure, I was lucky enough to be gifted early access to a digital version of this book but was under no obligation to say anything nice about it, I just genuinely think it’s great 💖
