Hey y’all, been a while since I used this account actively (2-3 years i think?). I’m not sure, but let’s catch up yeah?
If it isn’t obvious, i fell out of love with this lovely hobby of mine for quite a bit - being around people who don’t want to grow as individuals, working 3 jobs to try and stay afloat, on top of some pretty crappy life circumstances kinda just makes you lose your love for pretty much everything.

Alas!

Since moving away from nyc (thank the lord) i rediscovered my love for this again. Swipe to see what I’ve been up to:) some fun content coming within the next few days <3 if you made it this far thanks for sticking around xoxo

Checking out room microphone settings with @imissyouauras

Usually I just leave it directional, but if you try bidirectional "8" or omnidirectional "O" it will capture more room reverb

Trying a new drum setup with @imissyouauras

Kick, snare, toms, hi hat, and ride all get their own microphones. Other than that, just a room mic. In the past, my overheads were primarily used for the cymbals, which the room mic always captures PLENTY of. I'd commonly run into the problem of having TOO MUCH CRASH. If I lowered the cymbals via the overheads, I wouldn't have enough of the quieter cymbals (hats and ride). I figured I got plenty of cymbals in the room mic. I also will get plenty of crashes in my dedicated hi hat and ride microphones due to bleed, so I'll still have stereo width from those, tamed by the mono room mic.
I setup a mono overhead just incase I needed it while tracking for @_bojuka_bog_ but the drums in this video DO NOT include this.
