Tokyo was full circle.
We reunited with Mariko, an exchange teacher formed close-friend who lived with my family for 6 months in 2004 and had since lost touch. She inspired our love for not just Japanese culture but our curiosity for the world and meeting new people. It’s probably why traveling is important to me and my family.
A few years after she left, we made our first big trip to Japan (but Mariko had moved to Germany). It was so eye-opening that I couldn’t wait to come back as an adult, with the people who understood its significance.
Infinitely grateful for the privilege and rarity of spending this much time with my family, let alone on a trip back to the place and person that started it all!

I don’t fw men but I have learned that every once in a while if u befriend one he will reward u by getting a hot, successful, hilarious, heart-of-gold fiancée who will become one of ur favorite ppl in the world and invite u on her bachelorette where u get to meet a whole group of the sweetest girls girls there ever were and you’ll drink margaritas and float in the ocean together and ride off into the sunset together on a boat <3 blessed to have gone to Costaneeqah and thank u @_rehansyed for giving me an amazing friend in Aneeqah 🥲
