POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

📺 WE’RE GOING TO BE ON TELEVISION. 📺

Yep, you read that right. Channel 31 has picked up Volumes Up for three seasons. Somewhere, a sound guy just cried. 😂

What started as a few of us chasing bands around Sydney with cameras, gaffer tape and way too much coffee is heading to a station that’s pulled 1.2 million viewers in a single summer. Rove, Waleed Aly and Tommy Little all came up through community TV, so naturally we’re next. (Kidding. Mostly.)

Suitcase Cult, Aimee Claire and Monico: your faces are about to be on TV. Fix your hair. Thank you for trusting us with your stories. 🙏

To my crew, I’m so proud of every one of you. The early calls, the late nights, the dodgy parking and the “one more take” that was never one more take. This is yours.

And we’re not stopping:

🎸 Sunday 11th Oct at the Glenmore Hotel : Gomer Yaved Lapudo’oh

🚐 November: on the road with ChillCheney

🤘 Newcastle soon for Sky’s Law

🎤 And our young gun Arabi (aka Cal) is coming soon

Go support independent music. Buy the ticket, buy the merch, turn up to the small rooms. 🖤

All glory to God. I couldn’t do this without Jesus Christ, my Saviour.

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”

Proverbs 16:3

God bless. You don’t have to do everything. You just have to do something.

🎬 VOLUMES UP – FROM THE VAULT 🎬

Aimee Claire | Behind the Scenes in the Sydney University Tunnels

We filmed over 200 hours of footage across Season 1, and not all of it made the final cut. Before the main documentary is released, I’ve been going back through the vault to share some of the moments you haven’t seen. 🎞️

Today’s never-before-seen footage features Miss Aimee Claire, our new host for Volumes Up Season 2. 🎤

What a fantastic individual. What a human. What a mother. Aimee turned up with young Akion in tow and still brought her whole heart to the music. She’s warm, she’s real, and she cares deeply about independent artists. That’s exactly what Volumes Up is about.

Aimee, thank you for your time, your talent and your belief in what we’re building together. I’m so grateful to have you on board.

Season 2 is coming as we prepare to hit the road with ChillCheney. 🚐

🙏 HOW YOU CAN HELP 🙏

Click the link in bio and watch the full video. Every view, like, comment and share helps the algorithm put independent artists and venues in front of more people.

To my crew, thank you. None of this happens without you.

And as always, I can’t do any of this without my Lord and Saviour. All glory to God.

“Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.”

— Proverbs 31:25–26 (KJV)

That verse is Aimee to a tee. Amen. 🔊

So I went to a bowling club for a beer and walked out with a band. Classic Sunday. Some blokes come home with a meat tray. I came home with Newcastle’s finest. 🍺🎳

Huge thanks to Steve and Stevie B from 2RRR, who clearly know more about music than I know about lawn bowls. That’s a low bar, but they cleared it with style.

Here’s your Season 2 line-up:

🔥 CHILLCHENEY: First on board. We’re hitting the road with them in late November. Me, a van, and a camera full of footage across the Riverina. What could possibly go wrong? (Don’t answer that.)

🎤 ARABI: Cal to his mates, Arabi to the rest of you. We met this young legend at a Moshpit sound check. While I was busy looking for the bar, he was busy being brilliant.

🤘 SKY’S LAW: Newcastle lads playing real Australian rock. I’ve had them on repeat for weeks. My neighbours are thrilled. We’re heading up in December to catch them live and sit them down for a proper chat.

To all three acts, thank you for trusting a bloke with a camera and a dream. We can’t wait to tell your stories.

And on a serious note, none of this comes from my own strength. Every open door is a blessing, and the glory goes to my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Without Him I’d still be at the bowling club, losing at bowls.

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

Philippians 4:13 🙏

Three acts. Three stories. One season. Zero meat trays.

Turn it up. Let’s go. 🔊🇦🇺

DAY ONE: DONE. 🚌🎬

12:30 AM. Yes, AM. Jumped in the car and headed up the M1 while sensible people were asleep. Sleep? Never heard of her. ☕

On set at Lake Haven by 2:30 AM. Pitch black, freezing cold, running on adrenaline and servo coffee. Who said film was glam? I’d like a word. 😂

But standing at that bus shelter under a flickering streetlight at 3 in the morning, watching this story finally come to life? Wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Day one of principal photography for Last Bus From Wyong is in the can.

To my cast: Tommy, Niki, Henry, Em (Sahaja) and young Elias (and his mum Anna 🙌). You gave everything in the dark and the cold.

To my crew: Temmah, Keisha, Solaiman, Chok and Rob. Absolute legends.

A special mention for my producer Sonia Qutami, a superhero and my fellow warrior in Christ. Couldn’t have done it without you. 🙏

And a huge thank you to Bus Central Coast for giving us the beating heart of this film. 🚌❤️

Day Two? 3 AM Monday. Because one night without sleep clearly wasn’t enough. 😂

Grateful. Blessed. God’s hand has been on this from the start.

”His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

Lamentations 3:22–23

New every morning. Even at 2:30 AM. 🙏

On Saturday, 19 September, we gathered at the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney to mark the 17th Anniversary of the NSW Apology to Remembered Australians.

It was a deeply moving day of remembrance, reflection and recognition honouring those who spent their childhoods in institutions, children’s homes, orphanages and foster care and remembering the many whose stories were for far too long forgotten.

Behind an event like this is so much work that often goes unseen. It takes dedicated survivors, advocates, organisations, volunteers and supporters working tirelessly in the lead-up to make sure these stories continue to be heard and that the experiences of Remembered Australians are never erased from our history.

The 19th of September is not simply a date on the calendar. It is a reminder of the lives affected, the courage of survivors, the importance of truth and the responsibility we all have to remember.

We remember. We honour. We listen. And we continue to advocate for those whose voices were once silenced ❤️

The Launch Squad have flagged something worth reading. Nine artists in two months, all with the gig already in hand, losing work because venues changed how they engage entertainment. Not the music the paperwork.

We saw this ground all through Season One of Volumes Up. Artists under pressure, venues struggling, rooms closing across Sydney. Moshpit shuts in November.

Bands: if a venue has changed how they'll engage you, talk to TLS. Nobody should lose work over a form.

One week out. 🎬

Next Tuesday, 22 September, we screen Season One of Volumes Up at
Moshpit, Erskineville. Honoured to be doing this in that room.

Meet the spine behind Monico Ben on bass, Lachlan on drums.

Monico is Isaac. That's the name he performs under and the music is
his. But no artist stands up there alone. Every song lives or dies on
its rhythm section, and these two are the floor the whole thing stands
on. Least glamorous job in music, most important one.

And these lads are outstanding. Gracious, humble, no ego just two
blokes who love playing and treat everyone around them properly.
Exactly like Isaac. Rare thing to find.

Speaking of Isaac he's also performing at the Forgotten Australians
Memorial this Saturday. Said yes without hesitation, for people who've
waited most of their lives to be acknowledged. Tells you everything.

"In lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves."
Philippians 2:3 🙏

Come along next Tuesday. All three acts in the room — Aimee Claire ·
Suitcase Cult · Monico. Watch the series, then stand a few metres from
the people you just watched.

Moshpit closes in November. That's why it's there and nowhere else.

RSVP hit going, share this, bring someone.

Meet the sister holding focus on Season One.

Temmah Ryan First AC, Volumes Up.

First AC is one of those jobs nobody notices when it’s done well, and everybody notices when it isn’t. Pulling focus in a dark venue, on a moving subject, under stage lights doing whatever they feel like there’s no auto mode that saves you. You either nail it or the shot’s gone, and the band aren’t playing that song again for you.

Temmah nailed it. Over and over.

What’s been a joy is watching how much she’s grown across this production. Her skill set has come along in leaps. Every shoot sharper than the last, anticipating what was needed before anyone asked. She and Howard worked as a proper duo, and that’s a big part of why Season One looks the way it does.

T thank you, sis. For the long nights in loud rooms, and for never dropping your standard.

And the part I’m proudest of: she’s not staying in that chair. Temmah steps up as DOP on Volumes Up Season Two, and she’s shooting Last Bus from Wyong.

“Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings.” Proverbs 22:29

Blessed to have had her on this. 🙏
