POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We started our day by picking up the father of the two-month-old baby we welcomed into our care nearly two months ago. He spent the day helping us organize a storage container which can be used to store belongings as well as donations.

We picked up a new friend Megan before her Airbnb checkout. She is battling cancer, has spent her savings trying to survive, and despite having a master’s degree, has been unable to find work. Through a discount from the American Cancer Society, we committed to covering 11 days of hotel accommodations until she’s able to find the stability she desperately needs.

We picked up toys for the niece of our friend Alvaro, who is working hard to rebuild his life after successfully completing probation. We were able to help him get there by helping pay off what he owed.

At Prosperity Park, we distributed cold iced tea and home cooked meals with our friend Jennifer, then headed into the streets of Dallas with dozens of meals and fresh papaya lemonade.

And then there was Dennis.

We found Dennis behind a church in east Dallas , spending his days on scorching pavement. He has diabetes, has lost toes, was covered in ant bites, and has a severely swollen foot that made walking difficult.

Tonight, Dennis has a room for the week, a place to rest, heal, and most importantly, take a hot shower. Over the next few days he’ll be connected with a case manager who can help him address his needs.

We also checked in on Sheila, who has an appointment Wednesday to renew her ID and obtain her birth certificate, and Kenny, who is living with kidney failure and making encouraging improvements while choosing to walk away from toxic relationships and focus on himself.

None of this happens because of one person.

It happens because of all of you.

To every volunteer who cooked, juiced, transported, collected cans, donated, shared our posts, opened your home, gave your time, or simply told someone else about what we’re doing, THANK YOU!

Thank you for giving us the chance to serve—it’s truly an honor and a responsibility we don’t take lightly. Every week, we work to provide meals and care for about 300 people. It’s not easy—it takes a lot of time, energy, and often personal sacrifice. But we do it because we believe in the power of kindness and because we know how urgent the need is. If we don’t step up, who will? If we don’t act now, when will we? The need is real, and we can’t wait for someone else to take the first step.

Every night, as the day ends, hundreds in our community wonder where their next meal will come from. For them, a hot, nutritious meal isn’t just food—it’s hope. It’s a reminder that they’re not invisible, that they matter, and that someone cares. When we serve that meal, we’re saying, “You’re important. You deserve to be nourished and cared for.” In a world that can feel cold and uncaring, this small act can mean everything.

As we move from winter to spring, we’re so grateful for everyone who’s supported us. Your help has been a lifeline, not just for us, but for the people who count on that warm meal or a kind word. Now, as the weather heats up, we’re getting ready to set up cooling stations and bring back our freshly squeezed juices—a little thing that brought so much joy last summer.

This work is about more than just filling stomachs. It’s about showing people they’re not alone, that they’re valued, and that there’s hope for better days. But we can’t do it without you. We’re asking for your help—whether it’s through donations, volunteering, or just sharing what we do. Together, we can make a difference, one meal, one kind act, one moment of hope at a time.

Thank you for believing in this work and for standing with us. Your support means the world to us and to the people we serve. One plate, one night, one person at a time—we can make a difference, together.

Resistance is a safeguard against regression.

In times of chaos, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by despair, to believe that the world is spiraling beyond repair. But despair, while a natural response, can paralyze us when we need to act most.

Resistance is an inward refusal to let despair win. It’s a choice to believe that even the smallest actions matter, that even in the darkest moments, light can be found or created.

Despair thrives in isolation, but resistance reminds us that we are not alone. It calls us to lean on one another, to draw strength from collective hope, and to remember that history’s greatest transformations often began in moments of seeming hopelessness. When we resist despair, we reclaim our power to shape the future. We affirm that even in chaos, there is potential for renewal, for connection, and for change.

So, in the face of turmoil, let us not despair. Let us resist—not just with anger or defiance, but with the quiet, unshakable belief that a better world is possible. For it is in our resistance, both to external forces and to the pull of despair, that we find the courage to keep moving forward.

Thank you to our sewing circle volunteers our blankets are starting to be delivered to our people and will be delivered through the week.

Lastly, to everyone who continues to believe in us and the work we do for our community, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Much love, Ant.

Last night was rough. Even though some accepted help and we were mostly able to offer comfort, there were many who didn’t want help. It’s hard to witness someone who, in a brief exchange, seems rational and capable of a small conversation, but then shuts down at the thought of being surrounded by people. Honestly, I understand their hesitation or refusal.

This society rips away any ounce of humanity from people. It strips us of autonomy, reducing us to numbers in a system that values us based on what we produce or consume. Capitalism, in its pursuit of profit, reduces human beings to disposable commodities. We become defined not by our experiences, dreams, or emotions but by the color of our skin, physical appearance, or proximity to wealth. Our value is no longer in our capacity to love and create but in how much labor we offer or money we spend.

The systems in place turn us into numbers, keeping us disconnected from each other and our true selves. We are alienated, and in that alienation, we lose our sense of purpose and humanity. When we are no longer needed for profit, when we fall ill, grow old, or lose our jobs, we are discarded. The system moves on without us, as though we were obsolete goods. No guns or bans will save us, no law will restore the disconnect capitalism fosters.

The antidote to this dehumanization is love. Love takes shape in the smallest, most consistent actions. It’s found in the willingness to sit with someone struggling, to listen, be present, and offer help when asked. It’s found in the way we choose to connect with one another, not out of obligation, but because we recognize our shared humanity. It’s found in collaboration, in building local systems that prioritize people. It’s in mutual aid, in community building, in acts of kindness and solidarity that remind us we are more than the sum of our labor or balance of our bank accounts.

This is how we fight back—not with weapons or policies, but by showing up for each other, by creating spaces where people are valued not for what they produce, but for who they are. Through love and collective action, we can reclaim what capitalism has taken from us: our humanity.

Thank you community! We collected a total of 35 reusable water bottles today! Thank you to all the volunteers and folks who stopped by to drop off their bottles during food rescue today.

We will continue to collect as many reusable water bottles as we can through the next few months.

Collaboration among community members/nonprofits, businesses, and government officials is vital for developing a sustainable infrastructure that supports essential social programs crucial to the well-being of everyone.

Access to water is a human right, and we all have a responsibility to ensure every single one of our neighbors has access to this life resource.

If you can’t make the drop off site on Sunday mornings, please reach out and we can arrange a pick up that’s most convenient to you.

Thank you to our community partners @4dwn_org for always being willing to help!

Announcing the #AguaEsVida Reusable Bottle Collection drive!

Every Sunday starting at 9am, our partners at @4dwn_org will be collecting reusable water bottles for distribution to our unhoused neighbors in and around Dallas. With a month of summer still ahead and the need for access to water throughout the year, it’s crucial that every individual on the streets of Dallas has a reusable water bottle.

To date, we’ve distributed 350 bottles or jugs, most of which were purchased new.

To sustain this effort, we need your support.

Please rally your friends, family, coworkers, employers, and local communities to help us gather as many reusable water bottles as possible.

Access to water is a fundamental human right, and it is our collective responsibility to do everything we can to ensure everyone enjoys it.

Your contribution can make a significant difference!

Temperatures are starting to go down some, but still it is dangerously hot outside.

Thank you to all of you amazing people who are using your platform and activating your spaces to collect reusable water bottles to our #AguaEsVida initiative.

This initiative could not be possible without your help and participation. There truly is no contribution small enough. We all know someone who is in a position to help, we all know someone with an extra water jug, we all know someone who collects one too many extra blankets, so tap into your networks and collectively we can create some comfort for the folks who are at high risk of dehydration and heat strokes.

National day of mourning this Sunday at 2PM at the steps of the DPD headquarters.

The momentum must go on!

There was an amazing energy built up at the vigil yesterday thanks to @maatianheart @thetiaracooper @olinka_green @thutch25, BUT WE MUST KEEP GOING!

Action creates and encourages movement, it is time to act! It is time to show up and PROTECT BLACK WOMEN.

The time must come when we put our money where our mouth is and we make the sacrifices necessary for the betterment of our community. Without discomfort and sacrifices, we will continue to be In the same fucked up place that allows black women to die at the hands of police, that allows black women to die when they are having mental health episodes in the streets, that they continue to die when playing video games with they family.

Daily do we see black women that are seconds away from getting the police called on them. Mental health needs to be addressed at every table and every room, and if it’s not made a priority by our elected officials, then we must break down the fucking doors and demand it.

I’m tired of adding names to the lists of vigils Ive attended, Im tired of seeing my sisters children grow up without their loved ones, I’m tired of hearing the mothers cry, im tired of seeing whole families destroyed because of the police, I’m tired of seeing the world simply turn the page after a few marches and vigils.
