Mireille and I will carry the love we felt at our first Atlanta Watch Salon for the rest of our lives. ❤️

Hosted by The Watch Society and the Atlanta Watch Society, this weekend brought a dream to life.

To our guests, brand partners, watchmakers, chapter leaders, fellow clubs, volunteers and Atlanta family, thank you for showing up with so much love.

To our sponsors and supporters: Jeff Kim and Bank of America Private Bank, Joe and Noah Fried at Fried Goldberg, Jae Chung and BAROSA, Ben Katz and Happy Head, David Perez, Marty and The Treasury, the Rubis Foundation, Mike Capps, and Eduardo Krajewski and Abraham Rosales at WatchVote, thank you for believing. To FORTH Hotel and FORTH Club, thank you for giving us a beautiful home.

To Rocky Ramos, Sheyda and her team, The Kelley brothers, Troy Barmore, Andrew Hughes, Andy Berke, Brad Tucker and every friend who helped make this possible, thank you.

Mireille, I saw how much you carried and how much of yourself you gave. I love you, and I am so proud of what we built together.

And to Atlanta. You gave my family a home, a place to raise our boys and friendships that became family. Your diversity, warmth and spirit changed my life forever.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. wrote, “We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny.”

That is what this weekend felt like. People from different places and backgrounds, connected by kindness, curiosity and friendship.

In the city where Dr. King was born, I found a home for my own dream: bringing people together. A dream I will carry, and work to make real, for the rest of my life.

To everyone I couldn’t mention by name, forgive me. Instagram’s character limit apparently has a personal vendetta against gratitude, friendship and long lists of wonderful people. Thanking everyone properly would require a sequel, a director’s cut and possibly a second phone. 😂 You are loved and absolutely not forgotten.

These are just a few moments. More photos, individual thank you posts and videos are coming over the next few weeks. So much love deserves more than one post. ❤️

I will always be a New Yorker. But ATL has my heart forever. ❤️🍑

New York Watch Week isn't only about the big fairs.

Last night, Gotham Watch Club (@gothamwatchclub) hosted an intimate evening with Grandeur (@grandeur) in Brooklyn, giving collectors the chance to spend some real time with a brand that takes a decidedly unconventional approach to contemporary watchmaking.

Grandeur's catalog is full of pieces that are difficult to fully appreciate from a spec sheet alone, from unusual displays and materials to tourbillons and other complications.

Getting them in hand, speaking directly with the people behind the watches, and seeing how other collectors react to them is part of what makes smaller gatherings like this so worthwhile.

A great start to what is shaping up to be a very busy week of watches in New York.

The danger in collecting is feeling like you have to consume everything. “If I like it, I have to have it.” But you can study, admire and love a piece without owning it, and appreciation counts as part of collecting too.

So tell me: what’s the one watch you love but never need to own? 👇
