Saturday October 17th! That is when the Northern Virginia Fit Club is meeting again for a 4 mile walk/ruck at Lake Accotink Park! We will meet at 0800 and complete the 4 mile loop together. #MillerMonday This Monday, I want to share with each of you that the Northern Virginia Fit Club will be meeting at Lake Accotink Park for a 4 mile ruck/walk. We will meet at 7500 Accotink Park Rd. Springfield, VA at 8:00 am and be complete by 10:00 am. This weekend there will be a special guest in attendance! My youngest Daughter, Lia, will be walking with us! DM me to RSVP. #MillerMonday I know it’s a day late but I wanted this one to stick. I have been in a major rut. I am dealing with a knee and back injury that took me out of the DC Hyrox that I have been training for. So, I followed the plan for recovery. Lidocaine Patches, Steroids, Anti-Inflammatory meds. No training. Within 4 days, I added in Acupuncture. I have been doing weekly acupuncture and it has been AMAZING! Yesterday, I cut my grass for the first time in 3 weeks. It took me 4 hours! During that time, I did some soul searching. I felt like I didn’t have a good plan or way forward. That stopped today. I had some good conversations. I attended some great training. I have a clear vision of what I want. Now, it’s tome to execute. I am doing all the things, just as I should be. I have some great accountability partners and I am back at it. I want to help others. I want to build a community. I want to grow the Northern Virginia Fit Club. All of this starts with me. I am human. I struggle too. It’s what we do from that struggle that counts the most. If you’re looking for a coach, I am here. If you’re looking for a community, we are here. My next Northern Virginia Fit Club meet-up is Saturday September 19th from 0800-1000 at Lake Accotink Park. What an amazing way to start our Sunday! This morning, The Northern Virginia Fit Club partnered with the National Park Service and The Daughter’s of the American Revolution to clean and maintain the Korean Veteran War Memorial in Washington, DC We showed up at 0600 and began working at 0630 to show our respect for those who fought in, and died in, “The Forgotten War.” I started by telling a story about a man I used to train Tae Kwon Do with who was an Infantryman in the Korean War. He once told me, “Where I was, had the North Korean’s decided to attack us, we were told our life expectancy was 30 seconds.” Imagine sitting there, knowing that, and still having the courage to stay and fight should you be called to do so. The Northern Virginia Fit Club will be meeting up again on Saturday September 19, 2026 at Lake Accotink Park for a 4 mile ruck/walk. All ages, all levels welcome! This will also be where I debut the new banner as well as introduce some opportunities to earn some swag with continued participation!
