UDAY UTSHAV (Season I)
The Dawn of Dance. The Rise of Tomorrow.

Organised by Kathak Kala Kendra, Uday Utshav celebrates the artistry, dedication, and promise of young performers. As part of this distinguished evening of dance, our Intermediate students present the vibrant and rhythmic beauty of Tarana—a celebration of rhythm, movement, and expression rooted in the rich tradition of Indian classical dance.

Bringing together youthful energy and the grace of Kathak, this presentation is a glimpse into the journey of emerging artists as they step into the spotlight.

We invite you to be part of this remarkable celebration of culture, rhythm, and expression.

TUKRA
.
.

“In Kathak, Tukra is a short, snappy rhythmic piece showcasing technical prowess 😊. Typically fast-paced, it ends on Sam, highlighting intricate footwork movements and control.

Key points:
- Small composition with dance syllables (e.g., ta, thei, tat)
- Ends on Sam, syncing with tabla/pakhawaj
- Highlights speed, rhythm, and balance
- Focuses on precise footwork and control
- Types include Chakkardar Tukra (with spins)
- Basic rhythmic composition, lasts 1-2 avartan
- Pure Nritta (abstract dance), no expression #kathak #tukra #kathak_kala_kendra #kathak_rajibghosh #guru_shishya_parampara
