DON’T FEAR | LIGHTING BREAKDOWN 🍁 HAPPY THANKSGIVING 🦃 oh boy, where do i even start with this one. when this film was first pitched to me, its ambitious gravitas was clear: create a feature level blockbuster film condensed into a 20 minute short. At the time, it seemed like an impossible task, but alas, after 10 whole grueling days across FOUR different cities in Texas; from Austin, Round Rock, San Antonio, and Uvalde, this production would simply not exist if not for the incredible work of over 60 students filmmakers. from the incredible g&e crew, which saw numerous promotions as our gaffers kept getting offered paid gigs 🥵 to our four person camera team, our talented and nifty production designers and set dressers, to our hair and makeup artists, our script supervisors. I want to use this thanksgiving to share my gratitude to each and every single person behind this magical production that has changed my life in so many ways. one of the biggest challenges was trying to light such a big space that had to encompass a lot of people under dynamic blocking conditions. calculating the foot candles my fixtures outputted when considering the amount of haze had me feeling anxious, but thanks to the braw and dynamic range capabilities from @blackmagicnewsofficial pyxis 6k, we were able to preserve the most out of our image. Another tricky problem was the prospect of so many extras. we opted for a location that could provide enough rigging infrastructure, and committed to a completely overhead solution. dir. @maddox.mov @ellar0se_m powered by @aputure.lighting diagrams @diagram_master 3 ton from @gps.cine LIGHTING CREW: /ROUND ROCK UNIT GAFFERS @stoner.video @_wardyboy_ @_adrian.vzqz_ RIGGING GAFFER @lucas.j.mason KG @mayer__26 BBE @realjamesappleyard GRIPS @osso.g @sslade.alllllllll /UVALDE UNIT GAFFER @maxdaavis KG @mayer__26 @brooks_johnson7 BBE @sslade.alllllllll GRIPS @osso.g @stevie_diaz1 @jr_pillarz #studentfilm #horrorfilm #cinematography #cinematiclighting #filmlighting

I’m excited to make my directorial debut with this short film I produced titled “Here”. I wrote this script about two lovers contemplating life in the great outdoors, and decided it would be a great way to showcase the acting skills of my talented friends @_josie_reese and @_sandromadrigal who really brought the dialogue to life! Hope it resonates with you, because it definitely strikes a chord in me. This project would not have been possible without @carsonklubnik who not only assembled a crew for me, but also did the bulk of the filming and editing. Many thanks as well to @jd_tilt for capturing sound and to @kintzmedia for the stylish finishing touches in post production. Special shoutout also to @roy_zakai for the music. Thanks for taking the time to watch this, and keep an eye out for our next project together, a longer short titled “Showdown”! #shortfilm #texasactors #shortfilmfestival #austinactors
