INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL Film — 2008

🏍️ 2007 Harley-Davidson FLSTSC Softail Springer Classic

Set in 1957, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull features Shia LaBeouf as Mutt Williams riding a motorcycle that appears to be straight out of the 1950s, with Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones riding along.

But underneath its vintage appearance is a modern Harley-Davidson.

Built from a 2007 Softail Springer Classic, the motorcycle retained its 1,584cc Twin Cam 96B engine and modern drivetrain while being extensively modified to resemble a period-correct machine.

Custom builder Justin Kell of Glory Motor Works, alongside Eric Orr and Paul Greenstein, helped transform five motorcycles for the production in approximately six weeks.

The result: a modern Harley disguised as a motorcycle half a century older, built to withstand the demands of a Hollywood chase sequence.

I’ve been on the road since July with my little “P” plans: where I’ll be, who I’ll see, and what I’ll do.

Then life happens.

Things change. Timelines shift. Sometimes what feels like a terrible event—like getting stranded in the rain with a broken car—turns out to be divine redirection.

I’ve been “stationed,” not stuck or stranded, in Colorado for 20 days longer than planned while waiting for insurance to determine whether my car’s unfortunate jumpstart was covered.

I kept thinking about the Chinese farmer parable: we can never know whether something is fortune or misfortune until we see what it leads to.

Being in Durango gave me space to grieve a friend, receive guidance, discover new opportunities, and slow down. To be of service to people I love as they prepare for winter.

I was forced to stop rushing from place to place and simply be still.

Now, the incident will be considered insurable, and I can rent a car while everything is sorted out.

I don’t believe in fortune or misfortune. I believe in divinely orchestrated events, constantly shifting us toward our highest timelines.

In one timeline, I jumpstarted my car correctly and continued to California to plant a medicine garden with my sister, begin a new apothecary collaboration, and prepare for a pilgrimage to Egypt.

In this timeline, I procrastinated—and may have totaled my car.

But this timeline also gave me time to fall in love with Durango and Pagosa Springs, meet beautiful souls, and receive gifts I couldn’t have planned.

So many people tell the story of the Chinese farmer.

But I chose Shia LaBeouf—one of my favorites—because he has lived his own parable. Some of his greatest misfortunes ultimately led him closer to the divine.

When life breaks my heart, I look up and say:

“Father, I know You must have something amazing in store for me. I trust You would never lead me through this pain without purpose.

Thank You for trusting me to trust You, and for holding me through this season as the leaves fall and I await the rebirth of spring.” #chinesefarmer #divineplan #trustgodsplan #divineorchestration #shialabeouf
