I’m proud to introduce my second creation : Parure Kappu. Inspired by the Kappu, the traditional bracelets worn by Tamil people during meaningful celebrations such as weddings, religious ceremonies, and while wearing traditional clothing like the saree or lehenga. For this creation, I reimagined the Kappu by transforming it into a necklace. Traditionally worn on the arms as a symbol of protection, it now rests close to the heart, embracing and protecting the woman who wears it like a shield. Every detail has been carefully chosen. This scene takes place by a lake, a place that symbolizes the connection between life, death, and rebirth. The pink saree, a timeless garment, reflects our heritage, our traditions, and the pride of carrying them forward. The red gemstones used in the necklace are inspired by the precious stones traditionally found in Tamil jewellery. The flowers resting on the water honour Tamil traditions, where flowers accompany both celebrations and moments of remembrance, representing beauty, devotion, and the cycle of life. The red Kappu symbolizes protection and blessings. Parure Kappu is a homage to the strength, resilience, and protection of Tamil women. I’m pleased to introduce ~ Parure Kolam ~, a jewelry creation handcrafted over 20 hours. Drawn for centuries at the entrance of homes in Tamil Eelam, Kolam patterns are symbols of harmony, protection and prosperity. Their continuous lines represent the flow of life.
