There was lots more to do in the second half of Summer.

A handful of music festivals (Warp Tour, Hard Summer, splashhouse), a High School Reunion, some shows at one of my new favorite venues (farmhouse collective), and a quick visit to Vegas; good times were had.

I will take the time to say while I loved going to Splashhouse 2026, it was a miserable experience for the sole reason that it was hot. Really hot. The hotel room was hot. The venues were hot. The night time was hot. The food I ordered was hot, but that was my choice.

Overall, there's a chance I wouldn't do it again.

Anyways, the time we have is precious so I'm glad I have been blessed with the opportunity to have had such an eventful Summer and to have gotten to spend it with some pretty cool people.

And while the body is a little tired, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't geared up for more.

🤠

I've been...

...thinking about how my Summer has been going lately.

And it's been a lot of fun.

Thankfully the weather has been at its best in California and it's made every outing pleasant late into the season. The World Cup is also in town and it's been a highly skilled tournament. Very enjoyable to watch (and agonize over).

Anyways, I hope everyone is enjoying their Summer and finding something worth the time.

Let's see what the second half of the year has in store.

🎃 25 Days of Halloween 🎃

Day 5: John Carpenter's The Thing and The Thing (2011)

Double Feature!!!

Tonight my friends came over for a movie night and I thought it would be cool if we watched one of the greatest horror films of all time!

And also it's prequel.

John Carpenter's The Thing is a legendary film for a reason. It's atmosphere is absolutely captivating and it's effects are disgusting to this day.

A film about an alien that can mimic its prey and builds distrust amongst its characters, The Thing is arguably John Carpenter's greatest film and remains an absolute joy to watch, especially with first time viewers.

And just because it seemed like we were feeling it we watched the 2011 prequel. The Internet seems to have a distaste for the film but I personally like it very much.

It was actually a really good day today.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

🎃 25 Days of Halloween 🎃

Day 23: Super Halloween Boo-nanza

Part 2: Poltergeist

Tonight we went out for Sushi with friends. It was great and then when we got home we put on Poltergeist, a movie Brittaney had never seen before.

Yo Poltergeist is an evil movie.

It centers around a family living in a haunted house. And that's about it. Evil tree that tries to eat children, Evil clown, evil house!

It's an older movie now but it's still pretty creepy and watching it is a must for horror fans.
