we've been on a high alllll weeek after the stunning burns night collab between @_sly_dig and @twofournine.nights at the weekend!! thank you soooo much everyone for coming along and bringing the best energy. the vibes were perfect.

thanks go specifically to all the artists that actually smashed it oot the park. big love to @youngwon.png , @sheilainthepoundshop , @kirstylawmusic , @foxxydj1, @claz402 , @buckfastbarbie for all bringing completely different flavours to the night.
and aido kept the sound tidy.

thanks to anyone that helped behind the scenes, on the door and lugging stuff about for us all night. you know who you are <3

anyone that ate the amazing food from @phattfellas can tell you it was 🔥, so make sure to keep them in mind for your events

as always @sketchybeats is the most amazing grassroots community space, and could always do with donations of any kinds to keep them going and doing what they do <3 there is a link to do that in their bio

@thedivinehammer has shown us some love on their substack with a gorgeous review, so go and check that out for THE MOST current intel on new music across scotland.

if anyone is in a photey or video and they dont want to be just fire us a message and we'll take it off. we've tried to keep it just to vague crowd shots but wanted to share a snapshot of the night

keep an eye out for the next time angels!!!

First gig back in Scotland in two years and back at the @pianodrome as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Wednesday August 24th, 9pm. I'll be doing improvised hybrid live electronics and a set with piano (of course) and live electronics alongside legendary electronic musician @xica_as in this venue made entirely from junked pianos. Gonna be such a treat!

I'm beyond honoured and excited about moving to New York in 2 weeks, to study on the New York Academy of Art MFA Painting programme!

The mission is to refine my visual language skills and share visions around women's gazes on the world and more. I have been awarded @the_fulbright_program scholarship and Susan Wasserstein Patrons Award and a merit grant from the @newyorkacademyofart but need your support to reach my final funding goal. I'm almost there!

Please contribute or share this post. It'll help my journey to New York greatly and any contributions are much much appreciated. Thank you!

My dear pal Lucas Kao 高智鵬 put together a video of my work and upcoming project. Please take a look and check out my crowdfunder page via the link in my bio.

The 2nd and final live vid of the Nov Attack Release is now available. Go check out @simonheartfield .

Simon came all the way from Portsmouth to play Attack Release. He brought his Elektron boxes and teased a fantastic set of dark brooding electronic lushness out of them. Here’s a snip. Head over to our YT channel for the full set.

Your Dec Attack Release session will be on 18th this month so make all necessary calendar adjustments. We’ll be bringing you @_sly_dig @lukejay____ and @the.shell.band . First artist feature for the last Attack Release of year - Wed 18th Dec: Luke Jay

@lukejay____ is an electronic musician, songwriter and producer based in Glasgow, Scotland.

He has written and collaborated with artists such as Zoe Graham, Grayling, Russell Stewart and more.

He is a frequent collaborator with film production team Dropshack, and has scored short films for BBC Short Stuff, National Theatre Scotland and has twice won Best Original Score in the 48 Hour Film project.

The span of this work over last few years of his work has seen his own original work become increasingly multi-genre; sometimes aiming to be whisper quiet and in the background; to commanding attention and movement.

His live set aims to see genres woven together, with sampled poems and short stories used as the threads to hold it all together.

Outside of his bedroom, you may know him as your friendly neighbourhood synth salesman at @signal_sounds .

Also on the bill: @_sly_dig and @the.shell.band

An eclectic night of live experimental electronic music awaits - Wed 18th Dec. Live stuff 21:00-23:00. @blocglasgow Glasgow. Free entry.

A new music night, locally curated.

19.00 Robert Henderson, Emma Lloyd, Chris Lyons, Atzi Muramatsu | Open Call - world premieres of new works, inspired by chart-hitting pop songs

20.15 Emma Lloyd, John Hails & Chris Lyons | four songs by The Beatles arr. Louis Andriessen

20.45 The BegbieXenakis Ensemble | Worker’s Union (audience participation) by Louis Andriessen

21.15 Jess Aslan (aka Xica) | Electronic music
______

Probably the most informal new music night in the world. The Leith New Music # 4 returns with an extraordinary blend of new music with a lot of twists!

We are showcasing new pieces by emerging artists for trumpet, violin, viola, and cello - inspired by chart-hitting pop songs of the choice - from any genre, any era.

The night’s main drag is a very special and rare performance of late Dutch composer Louis Andriessen’s infamous open score Worker’s Union, joined by the ensemble musicians and YOU! The audience are warmly welcomed to rock up with any instrument and join us.

What’s more, Emma, John and Chris will serenade us to a short voice and piano performance of four songs originally written by the Beatles, but made fully accessible for musical outcasts by Louis Andriessen.

The night concludes with an experimental electronic music set by Jess Aslan (aka xica), an Edinburgh-London based synth and code mage researcher composer.

Suggested donation £10 / pay what you can - no one is turned away for lack of funds
