Wrapped BLOOM 🇸🇬🇲🇾 two months ago. Miss everyone and the jungles (and durians) every day. It’s still very hard to describe what we had been through but I’m so proud of what we have achieved. There were good days and there were bad days. Just like life, it was full of flavors. Appreciate everyone’s commitment and figuring this shit out together. Tahan all the way. I decided to produce this film because I want to challenge myself. Stepping outside of my comfort zone means I don’t get to be comfortable. I know many of the crew got onboard for similar reasons. It was painful but we get a chance to grow. They say the jungle changes people; I’m certainly a different person. This film is about friendship, responsibility and resilience. The making of it is also a testing ground of these themes. It’s a test of humanity. I’m so grateful to have worked with the best cast and crew. Thank you for believing in us and lending your talent! It was an epic time and I’ll never forget it. There were so many people offered advice and shared resources with me. Thank you for showing me kindness and compassion! Can’t wait to show the amazing Malaysian locations and talents~

And that’s a wrap on my first movie, Bloom. This is a photo of me, in Taman Negara, living my childhood dream of making a movie in this 130 million year old rainforest. It was by far the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life, but to confront every single impossible day surrounded by my closest friends and loved ones made it so much easier. I cannot express enough gratitude to all of you that supported me through thick and thin, blood, sweat and tears. We shot in 20+ unique jungles, waterfalls and caves in the most remote regions of Malaysia. 1-5 hour drives, river crossings, mountain hikes, torrential rain, leeches and insect bites every day. A normal film crew could not have pulled this off, only a family could have. To my leading ladies, @wangxiaolv @tinaxinhxan @min.mohmd_ @c0l33n_ch4n @makeupmaryann @cherylwong__ that inspired me and continued to kick ass through every adversity. To my best friends, @callme_winson @clingwrapped @_spacebarman @bencantfly who went above and beyond to care for me and help out in so many intangible ways that I can’t possible name. To my tech crew, @maryma11 @davewilwayco @doppusher @adhitya_rachman @gladystjandraa @blbecka100 @lofisoundiver who brought a cinema camera and a full jib and dolly to the most remote and treacherous locations. To my actors, who put up with the toughest shooting conditions and still brought forth your finest performances. To @jerry.hyj , the locations team, wardrobe, art, HMU, drivers, PAs, facilities. You guys are the backbone of the production and none of this would have been possible without you. All of you gave me the courage to dream big, and regardless of how the final film turns out, the memories of the last four months will stay with me for the rest of my life. #cuticutimalaysia #bloom
