South Suburban Emergency Response Team held their charity auction this past weekend, and, while we weren’t able to attend in person, we still want to show our support for the work they do for their community every single day. One of our own here in FRCC is from Cook County, so it hits close to home. If we can help, we’ll do our best even if it’s a social media shoutout!

These teams, alike the rest of the teams of the select few across the country, step up when people are having the worst day of their lives. If you’re able to help, we encourage you to support their mission and donate however you can. Every bit matters and goes directly toward helping those who continue to serve others without hesitation. The link to donate is on their Instagram page @_ssert_

Grabbed some Cane’s real quick while running errands with the family. While waiting for the food I just happened to have a view of the counter and watched the 20 something manager run her shift. She had a clipboard and appeared to be giving some type of random quiz to employees. I watched her show the clipboard to a girl who had just got done sweeping the floor. She answered the questions correctly apparently as the manager gave her an affirmation and a good job with a smile. A few seconds later the guy leaving the drive through spot was either going on break or leaving that station and his headset was on improperly. Instead of letting him walk by her she stopped him and simply reminded him of his head set which he promptly removed. Our food was ready and the manager got the girl who was sweeping and had her grab one of the two trays and walked the food over to us, delivered it told us where everything was and to come ask if we needed anything. She was clearly coaching the other girl. What’s my point? Somewhere today a police sergeant is going to be thanked for their service. If you’re that Sgt, make sure you’re living up to the example of this Raising Canes manager.

Recently I had the pleasure of attending an NVG hostage rescue course put on by @tapracktactical and @presscheckconsulting. Thank you to @bear_the_patriot for setting it up, @_ssert_ for sending some of our team guys, @_ssoa_ for sponsoring some spots, and all the other homies in attendance to make it possible! We learned a lot over the course of 5 days and 45 hours. Unfortunately I can not post much of the tactics taught but you get the idea. If you get a chance to train with either of these dudes I highly recommend you take advantage of the opportunity!
