Today is Love Your Server Day!

Valentine’s day is the highest-grossing day for restaurants. Please remember to tip well because tipping is basically their wages since the base pay in MD is still at a subminimum wage of $3.63/hour.

Make your voice heard next Thursday (Feb 1st)! 1 PM is the Senate Finance hearing in Annapolis.

Let’s show true grassroots support on 2/1 and not astroturfing (fake/paid-for grassroots) like the opposition. I will post later on how to register to testify for SB 160 “One Fair Wage Act”. Let’s support the workers and raise the sub-minimum antiquated wages of $3.63/ per hour plus tips to a full minimum wage plus tips. Tips should be a bonus for good service, not your main wages. Tips are not guaranteed but wages are.

Here is the mobilize link to pre-register and commit to speaking up for everyday workers ✊🏿. We’re stronger together, now let’s help 106k plus tipped workers in Maryland get a raise just like the rest of the state when we accelerated the minimum wage to $15 on Jan 1, 2024, but left tipped workers BEHIND @ $3.63.
