Happy Fall ya’ll 🍂🥰🤎💫

It’s a rainy Sunday here so I’ve been a happy cook and baker today.

A couple loaves of homemade Banana bread and beef tacos following a freshly made pumpkin pie with fresh homemade whipping cream for dessert.

I heard lots of my friends telling me similar stories about not being able to buy any Shabby this morning and I didn’t have any luck either.

But I’m going to remain hopeful and as soon as I get my hands on a few things I’ll post about it !

Best of luck to everyone patiently waiting 🥰

Hi there,

Just wanted to pop on to say I’m still here and I’m going just fine.

We went to Brimfield a couple weeks ago and the my first purchase was this gorgeous chandelier I bought from my friend and dealer @paintedprettiesllc ⭐️

Despite all the heavy rains we’ve had and are still having, it didn’t keep the magical butterflies away from my gardens.

Most days it felt like the butterflies were following me and I was loving every precious moment.

Also , @dollyparton song and her chosen emblem of the butterfly couldn’t be more of a perfect pairing 🧚‍♀️🌿🌸🦋

Yesterday Jim and I drove about 40 minutes away to a quaint little village called Hudson from the great Hudson Valley here in New York.
I could have spent all day browsing and shopping in this antique store where they sold a ton of Scandinavian antiques, furnishings and garden urns and unique outdoor pieces.

It was a spectacular sunny summer day and a great way to end July.

Can’t wait to see how the gardens here at home evolve and the change of colors I’ll see with cooler temps.

I’ll be spending my day weeding and hopefully clipping some dahlias in bloom 🌸🌿🌸🌿🌸

I normally would not be happy about two deer in my backyard but, this sweetness was beyond precious to witness with Jim very early this morning.

Hope you enjoy these two little rascals 🥹

Fourth of July always comes in with a bang of flowers !

The roses made the exit, now the Shasta daisies , hydrangeas , yarrow and phlox are putting on their July show !

I’m also really loving the picket fence back up in the front yard.

Jim has been working on the fence for weeks now and it does take a longtime to remove the old picket sections , disassemble , rebuild and digging post holes for our property .

Then painting the pickets in between rainstorms isn’t easy and really slows down the process.

I admit I’m extremely impatient with it all and need it done.

Hopefully Jim will make significant headway this weekend.

Wish him luck !

Hope you enjoyed my cottage garden in early July.

Good morning 🌞

Life around here in the garden is busting with natures activity and it is healing and nurturing for me.

Please take time to just either walk through or sit with nature.

These are gifts from God the father who created them for us to reset, heal and just simply enjoy.

Definately take time to stop and smell the roses.

Your mental health desperately needs it and so does your soul.

Not the best spring blooms from my 6 year old James Galways but considering how badly the rabbits chewed on them, I’m lucky to still have them.

They should rebloom again in August so hopefully it will be alot more filled out with many blooms.

Apparently we are under a “ Tornado Watch” til 3 pm so I had to hurry and clip some @david_austin_roses from the garden because I’ve been waiting patiently to do this all year and I had to do it now !

Is there anything like clipping your own garden flowers ?

My answer , a big huge NO 👩🏻‍🌾

The David Austin roses I clipped are;

1.) Spirit of Freedom
2.) Alan Tictchmarsh aka Huntington Rose
3.)St.Swithun
4.) unknown phlox

Take a little tour of my garden roses and some other companion flowers like salvia, verbena, phlox, yarrow and Shasta daisies.

These perennials are a must have as a companion as they’re a wonderful contrast and maintenance free except for doing the infamous Chelsea chop to bring on a second flush of blooms with the salvias.

Hope you have a nice time here and if you have any questions feel free to drop a dm.
