A former nightclub overlooking the Nairobi skyline, transformed into a multi-floor co-working space in Westlands. Now a private office, designed by @_studiokomorebi

The double-height structure became the design opportunity. Distinct ceiling treatments across each zone, organic wave-form timber in the lounge, hexagonal brass pendants over the workstations, slatted panels with amber LEDs running throughout.

Recent work documenting one of my favourite humans Pooja @_studiokomorebi recent project. She reimagined this family home in Nairobi and created something special. The home is a mix of african culture with bits and pieces from all over the continent. Love the limewash finish on the walls giving the space a calm feel and the interior then does the talking with some beautiful curated pieces.

Loving spaces that are now embracing local artisans and creating some amazing pieces.

Transforming an underused rooftop podium into leisure hospitality, Cloud Padel integrates padel courts with café, retail, and spectator zones: a recreational pavilion where watching matters as much as playing.

Four design strategies, urban / industrial / organic / local, frame Dubai’s skyline while lightweight canopies create shelter to this integrated landscape.

The nyota (star) with a display niche at its center is a traditional carved plasterwork design you’ll often find in #Lamu houses. It adds a sense of perspective, beauty and depth to #interiors that might otherwise looks very plain. Niches were used as storage for the Koran and for displays of porcelain pieces or other ornaments. These decorations were also seen as a way of protection of the house. Have a beautiful friday Rafikis 🙌

A sweet little reading nook we created, a place for quiet contemplation 🌞

We like our spaces to feel light, fresh and comfortable. The bench has storage below to store away all the extra clutter.

• Westlands Office •

Scope: Design & Fit-out

We believe a workspace should be a place that is comfortable, a space that stimulates productivity and inspires new ideas.

Before the renovation, this office felt dull and tired. Using the existing elements, we focused the design around function, identity and well-being.

The natural materiality produces an understated and distinctively calm ambience.

Signage is an equally important detail that was not overlooked for this project.

The subtle graphics and considered material finish seamlessly integrate into the space.

Scope: Design & Fit-out

For this renovation project, we wanted to break away from elements that make up a typical corporate office environment and instead create an approachable, home-like workspace.

Softened by the choice of materials which bring in warmth and tactility, the space comes together as a rejuvenating blend of clean and comfortable from the outside, hustling cityscape.

The beauty of Mvuli - when it is freshly cut the wood is a distinct yellow color, but on exposure to light, it quickly becomes golden-brown. •
