Not every image needs contrast to stand out.

For After the Ball, we wanted to create images that felt less like a photoshoot and more like a feeling.

The Ash Grey Fabric Backdrop from StudioBackdrops gave us the perfect foundation; subtle, textured and versatile enough to let every other element shine while still adding depth to the frame.

Proof that sometimes you don't need loud colours to make an impact. Just the right mood, the right light and a backdrop that brings it all together.

AFTER THE BALL | The beauty of lingering ✨

Because sometimes the best part of the evening is refusing to let it end.

This series came from that familiar feeling after a great night out, when the music has stopped, everyone has gone home but you’re not quite ready to let go of the moment. Your makeup still looks good, there’s a little sparkle left and you’re soaking in those last few moments before reality kicks back in.

Visually, we wanted everything to feel connected and effortless. Rather than creating strong contrast, we embraced soft tones, shimmer, movement, texture, and muted greys that melt into one another, creating a dreamy, almost nostalgic atmosphere.

And the ethereal mood of this series? Entirely courtesy of the Ash Grey Fabric Backdrop from @studiobackdrops.

After the Ball ✨

That moment when the event is over, everyone has gone home but you’re not quite ready to let go of the evening. Your makeup is still flawless, your outfit still feels magical, and for a little while longer, you’re simply enjoying being in your own company. ✨

For this concept, we wanted everything to exist in the same tonal world. Soft shimmer, delicate textures and the Ash Grey backdrop that brought the entire mood together.

We used the Ash Grey fabric backdrop from StudioBackdrops for its soft handpainted mottled texture. It works beautifully across creative concepts, portraits, fashion, and commercial photography. The muted grey tones softened the sparkle just enough, allowing the light, textures, and mood to blend together naturally almost like a memory frozen in time.

For months, she existed only as a feeling in my head; a woman inspired by an illustration by Steffi, someone you never fully see, yet somehow never forget. And maybe this final film is my version of finally meeting her.

What began as admiration for an artwork slowly turned into a visual world built through texture, shadows, and atmosphere. And the beautiful handpainted Liquorice Green Brushwork Background by @baroquebackdrops became such an important part of that world. Its deep green tones, layered brushwork, and painterly texture added this quiet old-world drama to every frame. It's rich enough to feel cinematic, yet subtle enough to never overpower the subject.

It didn’t feel like a backdrop anymore. It felt like the room she belonged in.

This is the BTS of a series inspired by an illustration by Steffi that stayed with me for a very long time.

I think we often search for inspiration in famous art while people around us are quietly creating extraordinary things too. What drew me in was how little the artwork revealed, yet how deeply it made me feel. I don’t know if this is exactly what she intended while creating it, but this became my interpretation of that emotion .. translated through photography, texture, light, and mood. ✨

For this setup, we used the Baroque Studio's Liquorice Green Brushwork Canvas Background. It's beautiful soft texture and deep muted tones helped bring that cinematic, emotional atmosphere to life.
