Our second Desert Retreat for Women in Perimenopause & Menopause with @_suryawellness

🌿 What if it this stage is inviting you to inhabit your body differently?

🌿Our next retreat is dedicated to one of the most overlooked conversations in women’s health: sensuality, sexuality, and vitality during perimenopause and menopause.

So many women are told to expect a loss of desire, changes in their bodies, disrupted sleep, vaginal dryness, or a diminished sense of themselves. Rarely are we taught that these changes can also become an invitation to build a new relationship with pleasure, intimacy, creativity, and embodied presence.

Over one nourishing weekend in the desert, we will explore how Ayurveda understands this transition and how daily practices can support hormonal health, brain health, the nervous system, and a renewed connection to the body.

Together we will experience:

• Somatic movement to awaken the body with curiosity and compassion
• Ayurvedic teachings for hormonal, sexual, and cognitive health
• Nutrition and cooking demonstrations featuring Ayurvedic meals with a Mediterranean flair that support libido, pelvic health, and vitality by our Palestinian chef @chefnawa
• Daily rituals for sleep, stress reduction, and nervous system regulation
• Conversations on the sacred feminine, the wisdom years, and reclaiming pleasure as a dimension of health
• Cacao ceremony, movement, community, and deep rest beneath the desert sky

This is not about becoming the woman you were at 30.
It is about discovering the woman you are becoming now.

This is an intimate gathering limited to 10 women, allowing for meaningful conversation, individualized attention, and genuine community.

This past weekend, twelve of us gathered for The Ayurvedic Way Home, an immersion into Ayurveda, perimenopause, menopause, and the wisdom years.

We arrived from different places and different histories—Latina, Arab, White, Black— (Puerto Rican, Ecuadorian, Mexican, Brazilian, Palestinian, North American) each carrying our own relationship to midlife, family, work, health, and the changing body

What unfolded was a conversation that could only happen because of that diversity.

We were also nourished by the extraordinary meals lovingly prepared by our sister Amna Musa. Her Palestinian culinary traditions met Ayurvedic principles with remarkable ease, creating meals that supported brain health, hormone balance, digestion while honoring the richness of her heritage.
🇵🇸🤍

📍Join Us This September
4th, 5th, 6th.
Our focus will be:
❤️Sexual & Sensual Health in Midlife❤️
Together we will explore sexuality, desire, intimacy #ayurveda , pleasure, pelvic health, embodiment, hormones, creativity, and the relationship between vitality and sensual expression through the lens of Ayurveda and women’s physiology.

Registration is now open, and because these retreats remain intentionally small, I encourage you to save your spot by replying YES

In life, we’re always searching for ways to become better—better mothers, better wives, better friends, and simply better human beings. We look for ways to nourish our bodies, calm our nervous systems, communicate more openly, and connect more deeply. As we get older, that journey can become more challenging.

Sometimes, you take a leap of faith, hoping to find something that will help—and instead, you find so much more than you ever imagined.

This weekend, I found myself surrounded by an incredible group of women from all walks of life. Despite our different backgrounds, we were all seeking the same thing: healing, growth, connection, and a way home to ourselves.

As we shared our stories, I realized none of us is truly alone. Each story inspired another. We learned different ways to nourish our bodies, quiet our minds, and honor our own unique path. There is no single right way to heal—there is only the way that is right for each of us.

AYURVEDIC WAY HOME @adelacbustamante @_suryawellness @chefnawa Thank you for making this a memorable experience ✨☀️🧘‍♀️🫶🏼🤍

I leave this weekend with a full heart, deep gratitude, and hope that what we’ve learned will ripple outward so we can continue lifting and supporting other women.

A blessing among blessings. Thank you to each and every one of you for your openness, your courage, and your beautiful hearts. This weekend was truly unforgettable. ❤️

It’s Not a Diet It’s a Redirection
When people hear gluten free, nut free, or non fried, they often think they have to give up the joy of eating. I am here to show you that you never have to choose between your health and your tastebuds.
The Secret is in the Spices (and the Fruit!)
I specialize in a vibrant fusion of Palestine, Spain, and Puerto Rico. By using the rich, aromatic spices of my heritage, I redirect the way we cook. We move away from heavy oils and “dude food,” and instead, we lean into bold, natural flavors.
And yes this includes dessert! I believe in satisfying your sweet tooth naturally, substituting processed sugars with the sweetness of whole fruits so you can indulge without the guilt.
Proven by my Own Path
This isn’t just a theory for me. When I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes, I used this exact approach focusing on healing foods and my specialty Palestinian herbal teas to lower my A1c and return my blood work to normal in just 3 months.
Join me on this Journey:
• June 26–28 Desert Retreat: Come experience how delicious “hormonal balance” can taste! While Elisabeth and Adela lead the healing and yoga, I’ll be fueling your transformation with my diaspora fusion.
• Private Home Lessons: Let’s get into your kitchen! I’ll teach you how to use global spices and natural sweeteners to manage your dietary needs without losing your love for amazing food.

DM me for retreat details or to book your private session!

AYURVEDA + THE DESERT + A CIRCLE OF WOMEN
Come be part of this unique weekend experience in a gorgeous natural setting.

🪬 If you’re experiencing the overwhelming shifts that come with menopause or feel the symptoms of perimenopause and are looking for guidance, holistic support and community, this weekend was dreamed for you.
☀️
THE VISION:
Mornings begin in the body—slow, intuitive somatic movement to awaken circulation, release held emotion, and reconnect to the pelvic bowl and heart.

In the kitchen, nourishment becomes practice. You’ll be both cared for and involved—enjoying Ayurvedic meals alongside hands-on cooking demonstrations designed to support hormonal balance, digestion, mood, and deep restoration.

We’ll explore Ayurvedic principles for this stage of life—how the doshas shift, how to support the liver, nervous system and tissues, and how to meet this transition with clarity rather than fear.
🧘🏽‍♀️
THE YUMMINESS:
Plus sun, rest, pool time, cacao ceremony, and the company of likeminded souls.

Not every aligned room will feel like home.

You can be surrounded by people doing similar work, similar values, similar integrity.
And still …something could feel off.
But when you find it? When the container actually matches what your nervous system needs?
That belonging is something else.

Trust your gut.

Grateful for everyone building this way.

Wow. I’m finally finding my feet after a powerful 5 days with some of the best people on earth.

The 2025 Integration conference with @gruntstylefoundation was next level. This was the second year for the event and the turnout was amazing.

Seeing people from all walks of life coming together to educate, heal and connect, restores my faith in humanity.

Thank you @darcygoodcrow and family for bringing all of your energy and love. From making buffalo drums,to inipi ceremonies, sacred pipe ceremony and so many good teachings, our cups are full with plenty to share. 🙏🏽 🐦‍⬛

Thank you @gruntstylefoundation for taking this up and for your deep commitment to supporting our veterans who gave and give so much for our country. ❤️🤍💙

Thank you to the 20 (roughly) @tribaldetox practitioners who came to support and learn. 🙏🏽🐸

All of the instructors who shared their gifts and wisdom were incredible. There was a bit of everything: kambo, massage, breath work, hypnotherapy, cacao, sound bath, cold plunge, equine therapy, Lakota teachings, triangular compass, Aya teachings and much more!

This is an event that I will be looking forward to every year. If you’d like to know more and are interested in future events, DM me!

I am almost speechless after a month away from home, connecting with some of the best humans I know. If I had to pick one word: DIVINE.

We went through it… the cosmic washing machine of love, laughter, truth, fear, release, growth, connection and all the bits in between.

I am so proud of ALL of us and filled with deep, deep gratitude for this path and the people who support it.

Te quiero tanto, tanto, tanto…. Con todo mi corazón!!!

WE ARE SO LUCKY!!!🙌🏽💚🔥🦋🪱🌈🐸
