‭‭Esther‬ ‭4‬:‭14‬ ‭ESV‬‬
“For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

At this point in the book of Esther, a decree has been sent out to kill the Jews by Haman. Mordecai (Esther’s close relative) is a Jew who will be killed, so he pleads with the new queen to ask the king for mercy on the Jews. Esther is scared to go to the king because anyone not invited to speak to him in the inner courts was likely to get killed. The exception for this rule was if you found favor from the king and he held out his golden scepter for you to touch. When Esther agrees to ask for the decree to be revoked by the king, he holds out his golden scepter, she touches it, and he grants Esther life. The golden scepter is such a beautiful analogy of how we in sin deserved to be die, but God, being rich in mercy, holds out his golden scepter to us. If we touch it, he allows us life and the ability to be apart of his wonderful plan.

Thankful to have friends that feel like sunshine and flowers and rainbows and really good hotdogs from a food truck…even when life is not all that. Friends that work with me everyday (at some point) and love me for who I am, friends to travel and go on adventures with!! Thank you for showing up and always making me laugh and living another year with me! Because I knew you, I have been changed for good!!

The Lord moved more powerfully this weekend than the rope that the Juniors pulled @ben_gibbs64 to the other side of the room with.
