Kundalakesi - Betrayal of trust

Kundalakesi is the final epic in Aiyumperum Kaapiyangal that tells the story of a wealthy merchant’s daughter who falls in love with a clever thief condemned to death. Moved by compassion, she persuades her father to save him and marries him, but he later plots to kill her during a journey, intending to steal her jewels.

Sensing danger, Kundalakesi pushes him off a cliff instead and survives through her courage. Deeply shaken by betrayal and suffering, she renounces worldly life, becomes a Jain nun, and travels across regions, eventually attaining spiritual wisdom and liberation
