Before we left for the meet @kellieann_carr told Selah, “The real victory is you returning to the starting line. You’ve already won. Now go have fun.” There were a few tears this morning watching her compete at something she loves and lots of praising Jesus out loud. TYJ!
She still has some ways to go in her recovery, but thanks to @clark_sheridan, she was ready for today. We are so grateful.

For those of you that have read “A Colonel and A Cowboy,” this is my brother @doddromero. He has traveled another year around the sun and he just keeps getting better. To the girl who does it ALL! Kellie is not only one of our employees or co-workers, but one of our best friends. She is giving, selfless, a great mentor, and graceful in everything she does. Whether it’s taking photos, ordering product for the store, doing prom makeup, pageant coaching, singing coaching, or cooking for Thanksgiving, she puts her all into everything and represents Colossians 3:23 beautifully. We are so lucky for our Kellie and don’t know what we would do without her. Happy birthday!!!

Happy Father’s Day to this guy!❤️
Stran is always present, always engaged, and always leading by example. The way he loves, serves, and guides our children gives them a beautiful picture of the Father’s love for them. Through his strength, faith, and consistency, he shows them what it means to walk with God and trust His goodness.

We are so grateful for a dad who points our kids to Jesus every day—not just with his words, but with the way he lives. What a blessing you are! We love you! 🤍🙏🏻🤠

🎂🎉🥳We finally got to celebrate 15!!!! 🎈🎁🎊How is it so?! Selah wanted to make sure both her grandparents were home to indulge in a birthday dinner with her. We all need to look at life through Selah’s eyes. Her spirit and heart make us better people. TYJ. Love you, lil lady.

MIA? Yes. We have been.
Not for any big reason—we just took a little break from posting. It felt right.

What a whirlwind week! We didn't get a ton of pictures because we were too busy, but memories > pictures every time. @stsranchwear and @1930remnant partnered to sponsor a segment in the ProRodeo League of Women's annual style show & luncheon, benefiting the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund. With completely styled outfits from jewelry to boots for 15 people, plus ourselves, we knew driving would be the best option. Not sure how it's possible for 2 1/2 days in Vegas to feel like two weeks, we made every moment count! Did some shopping, and even made time to go to the Sphere for the Wizard of Oz (which was infinitely more enjoyable to experience alongside the expressions on Selah's face!). The fashion show was amazing, and we can't wait to do it again next year. We left early Friday morning and drove all 15 hours back to Childress, because Stone Smith graduated college yesterday! Even though we were all tired, especially Stran, who drove the ENTIRE trip, it was worth it to see him walk across that stage! Here's to another year of memories with my people... i'll never take for granted the opportunity to do life beside my best friends. And, even though he makes me crazy like the big brother I never asked for, to be at the table (or in the car) when the Spirit speaks a message through Stran and you get a sermon you never asked for that you'll never forget! Here's to another year celebrating the sport that brought us all together!

This week, I lost one of my best friends — and our rodeo world lost one of its brightest lights. For those who knew my cousin, Jim Nichols, you know what a true loss this is.

“James,” as I fondly called him, was one of the most giving people I’ve ever known. He loved people deeply, loved connecting them, and lived every day with a heart full of generosity. He cherished our western way of life and was always looking for ways to make others’ lives better.

As I said at his funeral yesterday, he had it right:
Love God. Love people.

That’s exactly how he lived — and that’s how I’ll remember him. I miss you so much already, James. 🤍🙏🏻
