Survival speaks louder than words: I’m still here🤗😊

As 2025 draws to a close, I find myself looking back on a year that began with high hopes but quickly became a defining period of struggle. If this year has taught me anything, it is the hard truth that we should never allow our entire sense of self to depend on another person. After being a constant in my life for over three years, someone I deeply cared for walked away without a word of closure. It left me shattered, feeling as though I had failed at everything, and fell into a cycle of sleepless nights, immense fear with deep depression and anxiety.
At my lowest point, both my career and personal life felt like they were slipping through my fingers. I eventually reached a state of total mental collapse. I sought help from Dr. Harsha at Koyili Hospital and began therapy at Mind Clinic in Kannur, but every new realization only seemed to add to my exhaustion. Life became a blur of antidepressants and counseling. Even when my friend Ramees guided me toward Dr. Sumesh sir and Dr. Surjith sir at Kanhangad City Hospital, my progress felt like a seesaw—two days of peace followed by two days of total withdrawal. By November, the situation became so critical that I was admitted to the hospital for a week. I kept this hidden from my mother because I couldn’t bear to cause her more pain, Then my life took a turn for the worse with high-dose pills and hours of counseling. Then, just as I felt I was finally finding my footing again in December, an ACL injury left me housebound.
These ten months of treatment have brought me to a vital realization: we must never love someone else more than we love ourselves. We cannot allow ourselves to become enslaved to the presence of another. True happiness must come from within. I am incredibly grateful for the friends, family, and comrades who stayed by my side and listened me when I was at my worst. A special thanks to Dr. Sumesh sir and Dr. Surjith sir for helping me navigate the long way back to myself.
