Five Coffey Sigma Chis. Three generations. One enduring legacy.

This Fourth of July, our family celebrated more than America’s independence. We celebrated a tradition that has shaped the Coffey family for more than six decades.

Standing together are five members of the Beta Kappa Chapter of Sigma Chi at the University of Oklahoma, each representing another chapter in our family’s story.

💙 Bob Coffey • Initiated 1962 • Initiation #1237
💙 Robert Coffey • Initiated 1985 • Initiation #1885
💙 John Coffey • Initiated 1992 • Initiation #2049
💙 Colton Coffey • Initiated 2022 • Initiation #3107
💙 Thomas Coffey • Initiated 2025 • Initiation #3298

For our family, Sigma Chi has never been just a fraternity. It has been a lifelong brotherhood built on friendship, character, leadership, and service. Every generation has learned from those who came before them, and every generation has been challenged to leave the chapter better than they found it.

Watching my son, Thomas, join the same brotherhood that my father joined in 1962 was one of the proudest moments of my life. Seeing all five of us standing together this Fourth of July was a reminder that what began with my dad over 60 years ago has become one of the most meaningful traditions in our family.

The friendships, mentorship, opportunities, and values we’ve gained through Sigma Chi have influenced each of our lives in different ways, but the bond has remained the same.

Thank you to the brothers of the Beta Kappa Chapter and to Sigma Chi Fraternity for helping shape generations of Coffey men. We are proud to carry on this legacy and look forward to seeing where it leads in the years ahead.

In Hoc Signo Vinces.
