Closing out Mexico City group Tia Rosa’s upcoming record Thirteen Automatic Dreams, “The Game” lingers along the fringe of a dark shadow, floating bossa rhythms and light, airy horns around veiled vocals. Its subtle, miniature sonic movements carry a profound weight, unravelling with a chill that leaves you wondering whether you’ve stepped into an otherworldly enchantment or a creeping paranoia.

¡Exploren! 👁

Tia Rosa’s latest single is with us and it’s their most Young Marble Giants yet. They join us from Mexico City with a music video by Jolie M-A that lends light and motion to a song about Alaska, of which JJ writes: “Geographically, The Longest Day is about Orca Road, one of my favorite places in the world. A blue ocean field, a burn pile, a cove, algae and long Alaskan summer days. I wrote this song with my father in mind, who passed away in 2021. It’s about the strange feeling of realizing that a place can remember you, even when the people you knew there are gone.” Watch the entire video on Youtube and preorder the record on bandcamp and the K mail order department.
