Week 4 of the 2025/2026 IBSF World Cup takes us to Sigulda, Latvia! 🇱🇻🛷🔥

Today, we look back at the second men’s 2-man bobsleigh race of the weekend.

After Francesco Friedrich and Alexander Schüller took victory in the first race, it was Johannes Lochner and Georg Fleischhauer 🇩🇪 who came out on top in race two. 🥇💪

For Lochner, it was already his third victory in the first four 2-man races of the season — an impressive start to his World Cup campaign. 🔥🏆

And one thing was already becoming clear: this wouldn’t be their last victory of the season. 👀🛷

The 2026/2027 IBSF World Cup season will feature eight race weekends at seven different venues. 🌍🛷

Today, our track preview continues with a venue that will host not just one, but two consecutive World Cup weekends: Innsbruck-Igls! 🇦🇹🔥

On December 5–6 and December 12–13, the world’s best bobsleigh athletes will compete on the historic Olympic track in Innsbruck-Igls.

Last season marked the first World Cup races on the track following its major reconstruction. While the new lower section is technically tricky and demands precision from the pilots, Innsbruck has kept its reputation as a track where a powerful start can make a big difference. 💪🛷💨

📏 Track length: 1,399 metres
↪️ Number of corners: 15

Technical challenges in the new section combined with the importance of explosive starts — Innsbruck-Igls will test both driving skills and power at the start.

And in 2026/2027, the athletes will get to face that challenge two weekends in a row! 👀🔥

Today, the look back at last season’s IBSF World Cup continues with the men’s 2-man bobsleigh race on the rebuilt track in Innsbruck-Igls. 🇦🇹🛷

In the weeks leading up to the event, there was plenty of uncertainty. Due to issues with the homologation of the rebuilt track, it remained unclear for quite some time whether the races could actually take place in Innsbruck or would have to be moved to another track.

While the Skeleton races eventually had to be cancelled, the Bobsleigh World Cup was able to go ahead. 🙌

Another exciting race on the newly rebuilt track — and another chapter of last season’s World Cup to look back on! 🔥🛷
