Poem: I’ll take what I can get

**************

i’ll take what i can get

there inside you
is a world

expanding
in every moment
eyes lighting up
growing in fascination
or tightening
in concern
words dancing
across your forehead
in waves of wrinkles
memories
dripping down
to seal your throat
with stories
untold
laughter
wracking your body
keeping meaning
unseen
rain pouring
through a soul
shuddering under the thunder
the flash
of fear
racing through you

I watch
all this
and know
the universe
inside you
only unveils
to me
light
from stars
long passed
from sight

but

I’ll take what I can get

Cheers to another hundred years of things breaking.

I was gonna write up some fun essay about what 25 taught me but, why do that when I can just scroll thru reels?

Smfh
I hope 26 looks up.
