I wrote an essay last night that allowed me to reflect on the films I’ve made over the past two years. Without even putting too much thought into it, I noticed a clear pattern — they all spoke to timely and important themes, each told with care, depth, and cinematic precision.

The Delectable Azeezah Sama explored domestic violence. Overdose highlighted the realities of drug abuse. Honeycomb imagined a Nigeria where money was no longer a currency, forcing corrupt politicians to confront their greed. Grown reflected on the importance of our choices and the passage of time in shaping our journeys. And finally, Sealed addressed the dangers of female genital mutilation, with a subtle subplot touching on HIV and HIV care.

I’m deeply grateful to the people who have collaborated with me, helped tell these stories, funded them, and to you who continue to support them!

When @theadeniyijoseph and @allenblackboy shared the plan for executing #AMInuJin and #AMObiDiOmimi. I immediately jumped at it because it was something I had never done before; managing two units simultaneously for an entire project. That was the challenge and boy were we challenged!

Ever day came with its own problems and at some point it felt like a competition. Like each day’s challenge was competing with the previous day’s challenge to see which was more challenging. But guess what, we overcame them all!
.
There’s so much to be said about executing INU JIN and OBI DI OMIMI but for now, I just want to say that when you are going to battle, choose the right people to go to battle with. You might have a full arsenal but if you don’t have a good army, you won’t stand a fighting chance.
