For the women of Nasarrawo Ward in Demsa LGA and Bolki Ward in Numan LGA, flooding is more than a seasonal challenge. Year after year, it affects their livelihoods, disrupts daily life, and contributes to tensions within their communities.

Through the HER-Response Count Project, funded by the @wphfund and supported by @unwomen , this episode of the Women Climate Champions Series highlights women experiencing these challenges firsthand and taking action.

The WCACs share how recurring floods have affected their communities and how their WCAC training and sub-committee meetings have strengthened their confidence and equipped them with conflict mediation skills to respond to tensions and resolve disputes.

Today, community members are calling on these women to help mediate conflicts among women and resolve disputes, showing how women are becoming trusted leaders in their communities.

Their stories remind us that climate action is also peace action. When women are equipped with the right skills and confidence, they can help build more resilient and peaceful communities.

Because HER RESPONSE COUNTS!

So, share with us in the comments…
How can communities better support women to take on leadership roles in resolving conflicts and responding to climate challenges?

Climate change continues to threaten livelihoods, fuel conflicts, and disproportionately affect women. But in Adamawa State, women are leading practical solutions that are transforming their communities.

Under the Her Response Count Project funded by @wphfund with support from @unwomen this episode of the Women Climate Champions Series, we are spotlighting two members of the Women Climate Action Committees (WCACs) in Demsa LGA.

After receiving training on briquette charcoal production during the International Women’s Day for Sustainable Cooking, they are now equipping other women with the skill. The initiative is reducing dependence on firewood, helping to curb deforestation, and creating an additional source of income for women.

Beyond climate action, the impact is extending to peacebuilding. In Dwam Ward, Demsa LGA, WCAC members are also resolving climate-related conflicts in their communities, proving that empowered women are driving both environmental sustainability and lasting peace.

One of the biggest highlights @tft_initiative Climate Conversation Webinar was not just the discussions, the spoken word performances, or the insightful contributions from young people and partners, including @unwomenng , it was seeing over 36 participants make live commitments to climate action.

As the facilitator, it was inspiring to lead young people from awareness to action, with each person identifying a practical step they will take to support a healthier and more sustainable environment.

This video captures that powerful moment.

Now, I want to hear from you: What is one commitment you can make today to help address climate change in your community?

Share it in the comments and let’s turn conversations into action. 🌍💚

🎬 Behind the Scenes: Where Creativity Meets Capital
Before the cameras rolled, before the mics caught our words we gathered not just as guests, but as builders.

In a world where capital seems to follow the loudest pitch, we asked a different question:
What if creativity is the first currency?
What if your art, your story, your network, your imagination is the seed that grows the future?

This episode wasn’t about textbook answers.
It was raw. Insightful. A real-time brainstorm of culture, business, and bold ideas.

📺 Full episode drops soon.
Make sure you’re subscribed. This one will shift your mindset.
