I’m lost but I know where I’m going, and the closer I get the better I see.
I don’t know where I am, but I know exactly where I am.

I pushed myself to become a different man this year, and by God’s will I ended up here. I didn’t do all the things I wanted to do. I didn’t make the money I said I was going to make. I didn’t take my parents across the world. I didn’t run the 2 marathons, and I didn’t read 12 books this year. I fell short of my goals.

My mom says I’m too hard on myself, but I don’t think I’m hard enough.

I didn’t want to set another goal I wasn’t going to achieve, but it was through realizing a persons potential for what somebody can accomplish in a year drove me to discomfort. With that, I’ve never had a year so challenging. It was this year I finally understood struggle is only there to shape you for your purpose, and it’s not about what I have to do, but it’s who I have to become.

I’m thankful for the people and the experiences that helped me grow this year. I strive to become a better man in the new year and to continue to choose hardship over comfort. Only then will I get closer to fulfillment.

In the end, we may not know what tomorrow holds, but we know who holds tomorrow, so leave it up to God.
