Launch day at SXSW. After days of travel, build, and technical testing, the loss·y exhibition space is now live at SXSW. Yesterday was press day, with early previews of the work. The response was incredibly positive, with strong feedback from journalists, curators and fellow XR artists encountering the piece for the first time. Now the doors are open! loss·y, created by Lisa Jamhoury @lisajamhoury in collaboration with Unwired Dance Theatre, begins welcoming audiences as part of the XR programme, with Clémence Debaig on site introducing the work and connecting with artists, curators and producers from across the international XR community. More reflections from Austin soon. Unwired Dance Theatre is delighted to be collaborating with Lisa Jamhoury @lisajamhoury on loss·y. Situated at the physical–virtual threshold, loss·y holds space between corporeal passing and digital rebirth. The work suspends three split-seconds of a motion-captured female–female pas de deux, layering projection, 3D printed sculpture, spoken word and spatial sound into an installation that invites audiences to move through invisible thresholds. On the surface, it speaks to techno-society and surveillance. But it also leans into the uncanny wonder of our hybrid, human–digital condition. Unwired Dance Theatre developed the interactive audio system powering the installation, adapting technology originally created for Where We Meet. Using real-time motion capture and game engine spatial audio, the system tracks audiences in space, creating an embodied, shared experience. We are deeply grateful to Lisa for the invitation to work together on this project, and to the partners supporting its journey. loss·y is an official selection of SXSW 2026 and will be presented in Austin, TX, March 12-18 as part of the Future Art and Culture programme, produced by British Underground and Arts Council England with partnership support from the British Council. We’re very excited for what lies ahead. 🪨📹A customer 3D scanned a half eaten(excavated) black sesame and red bean mossy rock cake. The group didn’t have a knife to cut it with so each person started scooping with spoons. This is the new recommended way of eating a rock cake. Thank you Mint Waraya, @_evapeng & friends.
