Weight stigma and bullying are a significant problem in school settings. In a 2011 study conducted by the National Education Association, teachers named weight-based bullying as THE MOST PROBLEMATIC form of bullying in the classroom. Additional research recognized that students, educators, and parents all view weight-based bullying as a serious problem, one that surpasses bullying that occurs because of sex, sexual orientation, or disability (Bradshaw, Waasdorp, O’Brennan, & Gulemetova, 2013). Bullying may be physical, relational, social, verbal, or cyber (Kingsford, 2014).⁠

Weight stigma and bullying can also be a problem in families. Sometimes it can 'look like' harmless teasing, "Buffalo butt, fatso, ...." This 'harmless teasing' may come from parents, extended family or from siblings. Many clients over the years have shared their bullying stories.Teasing about appearance rarely works out well. Trust me on this.😞⁠

Yay! I see many new faces following me and that makes my heart happy so I want to reintroduce myself to all of you, new beautiful warriors.

Hi! My name is Monica Bivas, I am an IVF warrior and veteran and also a Fertilty Coach. My husband Shai and I are married for 19 years, we come from different backgrounds and cultures, He is Israeli and I am Colombian. I went through 5 cycles of IVF to be able to become a mom. Yes I have infertility. My first cycle is now a beautiful 16 year old girl, my second cycle was canceled due to medical error, my third cycle was a stillbirth baby girl at 39 weeks, my fourth cycle was a loss at 7.5 weeks and my fifth cycle is now a 8 year old girl and I had to be on blood thinners from week 17 due to a genetic blood clot disorder. Infertility took so much from me, it almost got us divorced, it took us to the unbearable pain of losing a baby, but also became my purpose and that is why infertility is the cause I’m fighting for.

Today, I help couples navigate through Fertility treatment and TTC naturally, providing gentle guidance during difficult decisions, a sounding board during emotional overwhelm, and reframing the process into a positive, empowering experience.

Over and over we are sold a message that there is a cure.

Trying to find the cure to your mental health disharmony leaves little space for the healing process.

The beauty in your unique world is that no one or no medicine can cure your life's trauma no matter how large or acute those traumas may be.

Trying to search for the cure can leave you tirelessly looking for the answers to the questions only you can find within.

Don't stifle the intricate journey required for your true healing by asking someone for the cure to the pain.

Feeling the pain is apart of the healing.

How to make Kale taste delicious 🥬
Kale is super nutritious and a great fall veggie. This creamy Avocado Dressing will make your Kale softer and adds flavor!
Just massage the dressing into the kale with your hands until it’s evenly spread.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Juice from 1/2 Lemon
1/2 large Avocado
Lots of Nutritional Yeast (or however much you like :) )
Pinch of Himalayan Sea Salt

Sleep is essential for your health and wellbeing🌙
Good sleep is vital for lowering your stress levels and improve overall health. Yet so many have difficulties with it. Below are a few tips that can help you sleep better. You dont need to do all of these at once. Just start with a few and go from there.

•go to bed before 11 (best at 10pm and see what works for your schedule)
•no more screens one hour before bed (and install f.lux on your conputer)
•drink some lavender chamomile tea or a calming tonic with reishi and ashwaghanda
•diffuse lavender oil to calm youe nervous system
•meditate (Headspace or WalingUp are great apps for this)
•read something
•take some Magnesium Glycinate and L-Theanine (super calming)
•if you are dealing with a monkey mind you can take some Bachflower White Chestnut or get their night time drops
•switch your phone to Airplane mode during the night and switch off your wifi
