Embrace Your True Self in 2025

In my last video of 2024, I had the honor of speaking with Mia Luna Victoria. She shared her experience of growing up in a predominantly white area, where she felt the need to hide who she was. It wasn’t until she connected with people who shared her background that she realized she didn’t need to put herself in a small box. She embraced her identity as a Latina and now encourages others to do the same.

To anyone facing imposter syndrome: It’s okay to be who you are. Surround yourself with people who allow you to shine.

As we step into 2025, I want to remind myself—and you—to stop hiding. Let’s no longer let trauma, fear, or self-doubt cause us to dim our own light. The world deserves to see the real you.

This year, let’s give it everything we’ve got. Embrace your identity, your personality, your whole self—and let’s make 2025 the year we step fully into our power.

🌟 “Healing has no age, and it’s never too late to reclaim your joy.” 🌟

We sat down with Ms. Hamlet, who shared her inspiring 4-year healing journey through therapy. She talked about breaking the stigma around seeking help, saying: “I used to think going to therapy meant you were crazy, but it’s the best decision I’ve ever made.”

Therapy has helped her manage her emotions, choose her reactions, and rediscover her happiness. Her story reminds us all: no matter your age or past, healing is possible. Trauma doesn’t define you, and seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

🧠💛 Let this be your reminder to prioritize your mental health and find the tools you need to smile again.

Meet Dayanna Corado—a true definition of strength and love. She shared her journey of donating bone marrow to her younger brother when he was battling ACD, a condition similar to leukemia. The first attempt didn’t work, and she had to undergo the process again, this time right before starting college. At just 12 years old, her brother was fighting for his life, and she gave him the ultimate gift: hope. Thankfully, everything is better now, and her brother’s health has improved and doing GREAT!

Dayanna’s advice? Hold onto the things that give you hope, like she did with starting college, and lean on the people who truly love you. Her story hit home for me because my own brother battled cancer at a young age. I wish I could’ve given everything to save him, and hearing Dayanna’s story reminded me how powerful love is in the face of unimaginable challenges. She’s not just a sister—she’s a hero.

This story is part of my new series, ‘I Tried to Off Myself, But Here I Am Talking to You.’ Starting this series scared me because I wanted to seem strong, but the truth is, I’m not always strong. I’ve had my moments of weakness and doubt. But sitting here, sharing these stories, and talking about what we’ve overcome makes me realize that strength doesn’t mean perfection—it means trying again.

To anyone battling something—whether it’s illness, grief, or your own mind—know this: it gets better. Surround yourself with love, look forward to brighter days, and never stop believing in your own resilience. 🌟

Growing up means realizing our parents are learning, too.💔✨

In a deeply moving conversation with Kirstie, she opened up about the challenges she’s facing with her mother and shared a powerful reminder: “This is their first experience too.” As adults, we often forget that our parents are just as new to this life as we are, navigating their own emotions, flaws, and pressures.

While Kirstie finds comfort in a little retail therapy, she also sees the value in real therapy, where healing and understanding come together. She spoke about how society’s expectations of what a mother “should be” can be overwhelming, creating unrealistic ideals that often lead to disappointment. But through those struggles, there’s a beautiful opportunity for growth, love, and connection.

Saveyourself is about holding space for these moments—letting our community feel, reflect, and grow without running from the hard truths. It’s okay to face the past and embrace the complex love we have for those closest to us.

What’s something you’ve learned about your parents as you’ve grown older that helped you see them in a new light?”

Today, I had the honor of sitting down with family member Tiffany, who shared her journey of strength and resilience after losing her mother. As her caregiver, she poured her heart into keeping her mom with us, and when she passed, it left Tiffany in a dark place. Her faith, however, became her guiding light.

Her words, ‘To be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord,’ are a powerful reminder that love and faith can carry us through our deepest pain. Tiffany’s tribe—her friends, family, and faith in God—helped her find peace and purpose beyond the grief. 🌿💫

Let’s honor Tiffany’s story as a reminder to hold on to hope and surround ourselves with people who lift us up. Today’s is Tiffany’s story, tomorrow it can be yours. DM us with any contact information so the world can hear yours.

Sat down with my friend Rechè, who opened up about the pain of losing his grandmother in 2020. He shared how he wrestled with anger toward the world and even God, struggling to process his grief. But by turning to faith, reading his Bible, and reconnecting with his church, he found a way out of that darkness. 🙏🏾

Sometimes, it’s in our toughest battles that we find the light we need. Grateful for his openness and strength.

This is what Saveyourself is all about—giving a voice to the journeys that make us who we are. 🖤
