WITNESS: Brooklyn

Some people step in front of a camera and learn how to pose.

Others seem to understand it almost instinctively.

We’ve known Brooklyn since she was a baby, and we’ve had the privilege of watching her grow into an accomplished dancer, a pageant queen, and, far more importantly, a genuinely good human being.

At just 14, her focus is remarkable. Her precision comes from years of dance, but the drive behind it is entirely hers. She approaches what she does with a level of discipline that would rival plenty of adults twice her age.

So when she decided to take part in Witness: Next Generation, I was curious to see what would happen when all of that focus was stripped down to something this simple.

Black background.
Black wardrobe.
No elaborate set.

Just Brooklyn and the camera.

And then this happened.

She understands line. Movement. Expression. She knows when to push and, maybe even more importantly, when to do absolutely nothing and simply hold the frame.

I don’t say this lightly: I think Brooklyn has genuine modeling potential.

Not because she’s beautiful. Plenty of people are beautiful.

Because the camera seems to understand her, and she seems to understand it right back.

These photographs aren’t showing us everything Brooklyn can become.

They’re showing us how much potential she hasn’t even tapped into yet.

The camera is the witness.
The photographs are the evidence.

The friendships that got you here deserve to be part of the story.

Senior year is filled with lasts. Last first day. Last homecoming. Last season. Last time walking those halls together.

And somewhere in all of that are the people who helped you get here—the ones who know the stories, survived the chaos, celebrated the wins, and probably have enough photographic evidence to ruin a future political career. 😂

So why not do senior portraits together?

Our BFF Senior Sessions give you the best of both worlds: each of you gets your own individual senior portraits, plus editorial group images with your favorite people. And because you’re sharing the session, you can also make the senior portrait experience more affordable than everyone booking separately.

Come individually.
Leave with an album cover. 🔥

Because years from now, you won’t just want to remember what you looked like senior year.

You’ll want to remember who was standing beside you.

📸 Class of 2027: Grab your best friends and let’s create something that belongs somewhere other than your camera roll.

DM us “BFF” for details and pricing.

The new fall cocktail menu has dropped at @wiseguylounge 🍂

This season’s cocktails are so much fun. Crisp, cool flavors. One comes with a mini charcuterie board, another with a signed Polaroid. All based on various folk tales. They were everything I wanted out of fall specials.😍

In order shown:
• Stingy Jack
• Scotch-ness Monster
• King Harold Bluetooth
• @_whitneynoel & @funeral_partie (😍)
• The Iron Horse (my personal favorite)
• Ayurvedic Elixer
• The Last Goodbye

Which are you trying first??⬇️🍷

WITNESS | JASMINE

We spend a lot of time talking about believing in our dreams.

Believe in the opportunity.
Believe in the future.
Believe in the person you want to become.

But eventually, every dream asks something harder of us:

Do you believe in yourself enough to protect it?

Because there will be rain.

Plans change. People disappoint us. Roads take turns we never expected. Sometimes life looks nothing like the picture we had in our heads.

And that’s when we discover something important.

We can hold our own umbrella.

Not because we don’t need other people. We do.

Not because the storms suddenly stop coming. They won’t.

But because eventually we have to understand that our happiness, our dreams and our destination do not depend entirely on someone else holding the umbrella for us. We need to hold it ourselves and weather the storm.

For this installment of Witness, we wanted to do something a little different with Jasmine.

Water. Mist. Movement. A little controlled chaos.

And somewhere in the process, the water became more than a creative choice.

Water moves.

It changes course. It finds its way around obstacles. It washes over what came before and keeps going.

Maybe we aren’t so different.

The past can shape our journey, but it doesn’t get to choose our destination.

There’s a reason the rearview mirror is smaller than the windshield.

Most of the road is still ahead; rain or shine.

Witness has never been about creating confidence or manufacturing some perfect version of the person standing in front of our camera.

Sometimes it’s simply about providing the evidence until we’re ready to believe it ourselves.

The camera is the witness.
The photographs are the evidence.

Believe in your dreams.
Believe even harder in the person holding the umbrella. ☔

Daringly Original.

It’s no secret that Fall is my absolute favorite, and @wiseguylounge just brought a little Fall joy a few weeks early. Their Fall cocktail menu launched today, with 6 new festive drinks. Inspired by Folklore tales, this menu is spiced and intriguing. Check them out in @goodfellaspie in the Distillery District now!

Sometimes the people who appear the most confident are still learning to see themselves that way.

I’ve had the privilege of watching Alyssa-Kate grow up.

I’ve watched her find her voice, set goals for herself, and develop a drive that continually impresses me. And now, as one of our Promethean Models, I’ve had the chance to watch something else happen in front of my camera.

She’s becoming increasingly comfortable simply being seen.

That matters.

Because confidence isn’t always loud.
It isn’t the absence of insecurity.
And it certainly isn’t believing every photograph of yourself is perfect.

Sometimes confidence is simply learning to trust your own voice more than all the voices telling you who you should be.

That’s what Witness has increasingly become about.

We strip away the elaborate wardrobe, the scenery and the distractions. We leave the person, the light and the camera.

And then we watch.

Not for perfection.

For recognition.

That little moment when someone stops wondering whether they’re enough and begins to see what the people who care about them may have seen all along.

We don’t create confidence.
We create the opportunity to recognize it.

We don’t create beauty.
We simply remove the distractions long enough for someone to see what was already there.

The camera bears witness.
The photographs are the evidence.
