PROMPT: “AUTUMN OF APPETITE,” or “Season of Good Eating.” (Shokuyoku no Aki). 🌰 In Japan, this represents the season of hearty appetite, when cooler weather returns and Autumn harvests are at their peak, prompting a strong desire in us to eat nourishing, delicious foods. 🌰 You wowed us with your dark humor and we can’t wait to see what you do with this week’s theme: Shokuyoku no Aki. We hope you love it as much as Wabi Sabi🧡 🌰We are asking you to think outside the box, with what feeds your appetite this autumn season? Favorite fruits, a hot persimmon tea by the fire? 🌞Konishiwa dear poets! We are finally able to post the winners from our Equinox Haiku - We are so sorry. Taihen moushiwake arimasen. So very sorry and offer our sincerest apologies. We cancelled one of two Canva accounts and with it, went our Equinox Winners and poems. There are no humans manning phones at Canva, so you have to hope someone in the know intercepted your email and knows how to problem solve! Whew!! The first time I heard this music by Yoav Goren was with figure skater Johnny Weir, a 3-time USA national champion. He learned to skate on a pond like me, and started formal training late in life, amazingly becoming a national champion, world champion and Olympian. This orchestration “Madre Terra” is mesmerizing and is on Globus’ EPICON album that I strongly suggest you listen to. He went on to compose for Johnny, “Love Is War,” found on you tube, for the 1988 Nationals, Worlds and it still emotionally guts my heart. All skaters learn international artists, sadly it is hard to access unless you watch competitions. Dare to dream of becoming an Olympian figure skater. Getting world renowned artists to compose for you is just another part of this artistry I love.
