I had every intention of having a productive workday.

Started my morning at @_workingfrom_ at the Hoxton Chicago, trying to make some progress on the two websites I’ve been building. One dedicated to my fine art practice and the other to everything else happening at Studio EmmJean. A seemingly simple idea that has turned into a much larger undertaking than anticipated.

But Chicago decided to give us an absurdly beautiful October afternoon, and sitting inside suddenly felt like a questionable life choice.

So I walked over to the Art Institute of Chicago to see the Lee Miller exhibition, which I’ve been wanting to visit. I absolutely loved it, particularly her photograph of Isamu Noguchi with his sculptures. Then I wandered upstairs to see Tony Cokes’s new installation.

Somewhere in the middle of all this, my calendar sent me a reminder that I’d completely forgotten I had matinee tickets to see Topdog/Underdog at Steppenwolf.

What began as a day of website development turned into an afternoon of photography, sculpture, contemporary art, and theater.

An extremely loose interpretation of a workday, but I’ll take it.

This was fun!

Brussels, that was a good one.

A morning of movement, good food and even better conversations.

From Pilates with @orianegidron to an inspiring talk on circadian rhythm with @astridnieuwborg from @treatyourself.be . Exploring how our internal clock influences our sleep, energy, hormones and overall wellbeing.

Because feeling better starts with understanding how our bodies actually work.

Thank you to @_workingfrom_ at The Hoxton Brussels @thehoxtonhotel for having us, and to everyone who joined us.

More of this, please.

PUSH, beyond the products.

More time spent with our phones down learning.

I have the gift of gathering people. And my favorite past-time right now is curating (alongside others) experiences that are edifying and allow for people to be seen and heard.

In partnership with the @_workingfrom_ and the @thehoxtonhotel I present to you all:

All About Love and Wine.

An intentional community derived book club for learners and doers. Curious about love and wine.

You don’t foster community alone. Thank you to Lakshmi from @date_humans and Xavier from @thelastlap.co for facilitating and creating the space alongside me. And Tori from @pizz.amici for sharing his passion and expertise for Wine and Oenology.

I’ve come to know as of late that the best way for me to unplug from the constant noise is to learn. And surround myself with people like the ones mentioned above that have done the hard work of putting in the 10,000 hrs.

“I can’t wait to be back in a room with people who are just as passionate about coworking as I am”

We are delighted to have Luke Fellone co-MCing this year’s GCUC UK London alongside Tia Samuels.

Luke is Director of Coworking at @_workingfrom_ Working From_, and both he and Tia are on the @futureleadersofcoworking advisory council.

His words for what’s coming on 8 October: geek out on the stats, have a few debates, and go home with a depleted social battery but a heart full of coworking knowledge.

What more could you want?

Get your tickets for GCUC UK London before General Admission closes at midnight on Sunday.

I love working from my studio, but I am apparently incapable of sitting there without getting distracted by something.

So every once in awhile I take my laptop over to @_workingfrom_ at @thehoxtonhotel in the west loop and somehow manage to get shit done.
