BUILT FOR US

Built For Us is more than the title of my solo exhibition it is a reflection of what this space represents to me.

I am incredibly grateful to Destiny King, Chief at Tuesdaze Urban, for always making space for my art, believing in my work, and continuously creating opportunities for artists like myself. I was truly honored and completely surprised when she gifted me the opportunity to have a solo exhibition at 4DWN Skate Park.

This place holds a special meaning for me. The skate park feels like a part of my inner-child healing a place where creativity, movement, music, community, and joy come together.

But beyond skating, 4DWN is a space that continues to show up for the community creating a safe place for people to gather, offering food and resources, sharing music, and fostering love, support, and connection.

That is why I chose the title Built For Us.

For our artists.
For our community.
For our creativity.
For our healing.
For our voices.

I am so grateful to 4DWN Skate Park for opening its doors to artists and allowing our work to live within a space so deeply connected to community.

And Destiny thank you for seeing artists, creating space for us, and finding places where our work can be seen and celebrated. You continue to build bridges and opportunities, and that means more than you know. ❤️

This exhibition is Built For Us.
And it truly is for us. 🖤🎨🛹

Based in Fort Worth, Texas, Martha Anderson of YouForbia Art transforms what the world discards into vibrant, modern landscapes that explore the intersection of nature, geography, and sustainability. Using hand-tufted, reclaimed T-shirt fibers, they build bold topographical compositions that map the delicate interplay of shadows and textures while pushing the physical possibilities of the medium. Her process begins by individually selecting each fiber for its rich color and history. By elevating these forgotten, human-made materials into fine art, they give new life to textile waste. Believing that time is her most valuable resource, Martha dedicates their career to bringing the infinite ideas in their mind into physical form. Through these tactile textures, they invite viewers to pause, connect, and reflect on both the beauty of our planet and the impact of our consumption.

The Fiber Revival was created by Martha in 2025 to establish a free reclaimed fiber community in DFW. Using reclaimed to textiles to create contemporary fine art each artist was challenged to create 6 individual works using reclaimed fibers in 6 colors that were 12” X 12” each.

In her series for 12 Squared she focused on incorporating a wider variety of reclaimed fibers and techniques to expand her practice. Each of the 6 works are a unique tactile journey.

Cyber Girl is Now the name of the new series I’m creating, with everything changing so fast so quick and us constantly relying on our phone for everything. This is just work exploring everyday thought and emotions along with live experience and a new way of expressing work each piece is different but some what the same and exploring the subject quick act of expressing emotions on the spot like what you see is what you get. There are things we all do without noticing , what is actually influences us while we go about our life, when you ask someone to improve expression and half the time our expression informs us on what infusions us in society today more of these to come.💥💥💥💥

Also shout out and thank you to the lovely @theegianina helping me with this project and being so open to it as I do see myself more than just a photographer.

Director Cut, Well I never know how these videos may come out and what it may express. So please let me know what this is giving. I think I know exactly what it’s expressing so don’t feel too overwhelmed. All original audio from all the videos edited together. Some stuff was cut so it may sound a bit weird in some places but that the beauty of experimenting excited to make the final one later on but please let me know what you think. 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠 💥💥💥💥 #latenightpostwithnorules
