Happy Filipino American History Month from Smorgasburg!

It was Sunday funday celebrating FAHM with Judy, Jashmine, and new friends Jess, Jhanelle, Mary and JR (who was dressed as Raww from “Forgotten Island”). In my “Easter Sunday” shirt, I joked that JR and I should do a mashup – “Easter Island.”

For lunch, I had the calamansi chicken bowl from Kuyas, coconut pandan pie from Sugar Pop 55, and ube milk tea latte from Studio Tigre.

Fun fact:
Filipino American History Month was established in 1992 by the Filipino American National Historical Society to commemorate the arrival of Filipinos on October 18, 1587 in Morro Bay, California.

Two monfs never too late - Part 1 😅

Blessed and grateful to have gallivanted once again through the adopted-motherland 🇯🇵! From seeing family and friends in Tokyo 🌃 to adventuring through Wakkanai, Hokkaido🍺 and Rishiri Rebun Sarobetsu National Park 🏞️, everyday was a hot and humid sweaty excursion 🥵. ありがと知二様と三恵様 for a wonderful and fun trip!

First 10k race @santamonicaclassic

Time: 40:10 (6:28/pace per mile)

62nd overall out of 4,545 (5th in Age Group)

Great experience! Came up short of my goal time but motivated to improve and apply some learnings for the next one...

Don’t show up to the corral late so you’re not stuck in the back, boxed in and having to weave around people.

If you use a Garmin or something similar, make sure to set it up correctly... I somehow messed mine up and didn’t realize until later so I ran off feel which was fun in some ways not having to constantly look down at my watch but also hard to gauge where I was time wise.

Favorite part was my youngest, Emmett, doing his first kids race. So proud of him for giving 100% and trying something new. And he got 3rd place! So cute seeing all these kids run and all the parents chasing them with their cameras lol.

Props to Adrian @lizzzjenny and @_zenzaddy for crushing their 10ks!

Midlife tour next stop @longbeachmarathon

Never too late to start!

With this insane never ending heat wave by our silly boy El Niño 👦🏽, I’m a bit nostalgic of our trip to Hawaii celebrating Nicole and David’s picture perfect 🌺, appetizer buffet before 18 course dinner 🍱, whale watching 🐳, fiber optic whips 🦯, surf extravaganza 🏄🏻‍♀️ wedding back in April. And now the warm waters have seized our cold shores (and hot humid air) 🥵😩💨
