A book. A movement. 30 years of women finding their voices, taking their places, and pushing the boundaries.

NILOWV presented Rising Beyond Borders by our Founder, Rt. Hon. Dame Esther Uduehi, PhD — a tribute to the women who paved the way and an invitation to the young women coming after us.

The story continues. 💙

In high school I started signing my name as “B. Thomas Rush, Esquire” just because I’m weird. But look at me now - I became a lawyer!!! For a couple days. In an independent film. Still though, I feel like Oprah should interview me about how I’ve successfully implemented the Law of Attraction by putting the idea out into the universe. Anyways, my point is, big hugs to the cast and crew of Second Amends.

Wrapped for Second Amends, a satirical comedy about gun control. Thank you so much to @leong4422 for bringing me on board this film! Had a blast with the rest of the cast and production crew.

Every project I truly love finds me when I’m relaxed and not chasing anything, and this one is exactly that. I love this story, I love this team, and we are having so much fun on set. Every scene, every person I get to work with, all of it. We’re right in the middle of filming and I already can’t wait to share it with you.

My character mirrors parts of who I am in real life, and sometimes that makes her easier to step into. But sometimes it’s the opposite, and playing someone close to who you are is actually the harder version, because there’s nowhere to hide behind a character that isn’t you. Either way, every role teaches me something about myself, and I’m truly grateful for that.

I still show up for acting the same way I show up for everything else, focused on quality. And even with everything else I have going on, being on set is my happiest place. Whatever is happening in my life, it all falls away. It’s just my character, the story, the camera, and my scene partner.

More soon 🎬
