I lost my favourite person in the world last year. My constant. My main parental figure. My grandpa.

I'm not shy of death and speaking openly and freely about it. I'm not shy of sharing the experience that I endured during this extremely difficult, eye opening, and life-changing time.

The days leading up to my grandpa's death, the time of his death, the months after, and this present moment, have continued to be an up and down emotional journey of grief. I have been challenged mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally.. in ways I've never been challenged before.

I simply have been being. No sugar coating, no rushing, no listening to what others think is best for me. I am sitting with my feelings and emotions. All of the sadness and discomfort. I am crying hysterically. I am taking time to. just. be.

I get asked how I'm doing everyday. To say an overall feeling isn't obtainable. It's out of reach. I'm managing and I'm being. It's easier to answer the question, "how is your morning going?" "How has your evening been?" A short time span is easier to give myself space to say this morning was okay, but this evening was awful.

Grief is something I've known, but this kind of grief.. losing a parent. Losing your constant... it's much different. I have never felt so empty, so lost, so confused, in my entire life. I'm proud of how I've handled everything. I remain proud. But damn. This shit is fucking hard.

I walk through the world differently now. I haven't hardened. I've softened even more.

I was able to sit with my grandpa in the hospital for roughly 8hrs after he passed. The first sight was tragic. Absolutely heart-breaking. But as the hours passed, being with him, watching his face change, watching peace drape over his appearance.. I felt a strong sense of calm. Completely heartbroken, but calm.

I love my grandpa endlessly. So much it hurts. He gave me everything, and even though he's gone, he still continues to take care of me.

I love you Gramps. More than you'll ever know. Rest gently and keep enjoying everything you love and then some. I'll be cheering on your Jays as long as I live.

Love, your Crissy.

I've been trying to find the right thing to say...

I've just finished my third year at school and I came out of it with a full-on animated short this time. I knew we'd kill it as a team but the finished product completely exceeded my expectations. I'm so proud to be a klobmartian ✨

This is just 20 photos of klobillion showcasing how close we got as a team. This was one of the hardest, most fulfilling projects I've ever been lucky enough to be a part of. I grew in places I didn't know I needed to and learned so much more about the world than I ever thought. This was my first animated film, hopefully of many!

Thank you, klobs, for making this one sooo special. I'm so glad to know all of you. I will keep this experience in my heart forever ❤
