TOMORROW!!! Curious Ear x Klang! summer gathering at Plattfields tomorrow :))) 1.30-4pm in Platt Fields Market Garden with performances by @c0bweaver, @hopevalleycementworks & Kelly Jayne Jones, @almostloveheart @a.a.x_t & @henrydmcpherson, @amirism.space & @maryanneroyle Our last group to introduce is @amirism.space (replacing Rhizocorp!) & @maryanneroyle Maryanne Royle is an artist from Rochdale interested in perception and the body as a landscape. Working site specifically and with time-based media, Maryanne creates immersive and poetic experiences relevant to the heritage and character of places. amirism.space is the solo project of Miftah Amir, a Manchester-based drummer and producer hailing from Jakarta, Indonesia. Drawing from improvised musical traditions and sample-based sound collage, Amir works between live drumming and digital synthesis, focusing on the tactile dimensions of sound: grain, pulse and feedback. Tickets are still going for £7-12 via the link in our bio & will be available on the door (no one turned away for lack of funds as always though!) Looking forward!!!

🌞 Not long til our summer gathering at Platt Fields Market Garden 🌞 There will be four performances, featuring some newly curated duos and trios working together for the first time. Very excited to have Kelly Jayne Jones and Hope Valley Cement Works doing a joint set as part of this! Kelly’s work combines performance, installation and sound. She began working in experimental concrete music and her practice has expanded to include dance, gesture, sonic drawings, stone sculpture and film. Hope Valley Cement Works uses a selection of field recordings to create sound collages - from the most abrasive to the unbelievably sublime. @hopevalleycementworks We’ve had them both play fantastic solo sets for us in the past and are very excited to see what this collab will bring :))

A few wonderful shots of AGTIC NLP (minus @slaylor_moon , who was unfortunately double-booked) from our set at @monochromebristol earlier this month, snapped by the lens of @schwetography . + some bonus clips of the infernal cacophony shot by @freyjapitch . Took a courtesy of adding a blur effect to protect the modesty of the scantily clad portions of the band from unsuspecting eyes / instagram censors. Hopefully we will be attempting to perform similar gestures in the near future with the addition of our missing piece

Another review of Beton Library: Clockwork System Archive [1] by @a.a.x_t this time in @thequietus Spools Out column by @daryl.worthington "The whole thing flows like a discombobulating audio book, Taeuber toying with the image weirdness of hearing the material they're working with played out of context." Copies of the tape available now from the Bandcamp. Link in bio

The talk delivered by Aubrey Taeuber... @a.a.x_t To initiate the archive of magical participation, this talk will play close witness to the rituals of today’s practitioners, trained upon their choreographies opposed to their traditions. Today’s Rituals will discuss the senses of participation, delighting in the viscera of our magicks. #Shipley #Bradford #occulture

🪸NEW SHOW!!! 🪸 Very excited to announce our first show of the year (?!?!? finally!) - we’re hosting Sunik Kim at @ad_england with xentacles (@izzybolt & @joebeedles ) and @a.a.x_t in support. Tickets are £7-12 (link in bio) & as always notaflof! SUNIK KIM is a musician and writer currently based in Los Angeles. Their recent work attempts to unfold problems of perceptual and temporal distortion through computer-generated sound. They will be presenting fragments from an upcoming project informed by the „schreibzeit“ (writing time) of conceptual artist Hanne Darboven. Counting sounds. Music that writes on other music. Music where we’ve already been here before. And so on... XENTACLES: Submerge into the strange sucker sounds of xentacular aquarian creatures. None of which were harmed during the making of these sonics. Breeding ecosystems of complete tentacle wellness, xentacles is the birth of computerised tentacular beings, digital cephalopods and mechanical muscular hydrostats. @izzybolt @joebeedles AUBREY TAEUBER is a eustress rockstar, magical practitioner and often shy. Working guitars across many projects, this alone effort obstructs and inhibits the guitar and their playing to be percussive and misleading to watch. @a.a.x_t Hopefully catch lots of you there!

OUT NOW!! SAC #042: A.A.X'T - BETON LIBRARY: CLOCKWORK SYSTEM ARCHIVE [1] Artist Aubrey Taeuber bring us a fascinating new concept piece in the form of two long form sound collages weaving a tale of forbidden knowledge stolen by the elites and denied to the poor. “The Beton Library, is a derogatory term given to the sealed concrete posterns of the technocracies final fortifications. In pressing yourself against one you become as close to our confiscated culture as anyone can be. As you know the technocrats abandonment of the precariat achieved two-fold, the seizure of all our recorded culture and our assumed extinction in the dust of ecological collapse. Silent and unadorned, their fortifications resided over this hopelessness, rendering all outside of them returned to orality and subsistence, sudden story tellers and desperate villeins. a.a.x’t exists here, several generations past the sealing, content to press themselves against the Beton libraries, forcing their head, ear first, painfully into the concrete surfaces, convinced that some ‘culture’ may sound to them. This ritual, while purely symbolic for the majority of the precariat - who practiced it as a mourning and remembrance of what was taken, a.a.x’t believed it would actually lead to 'the restoration’. The sounds herein prove a.a.x’t’s devotion, what a hair width fault in one of the libraries whispered to them and lit the restoration. Cut up, carved apart and grafted sounds, greed melted, these songs, languages, stories and manipulations all play simultaneously, playing over each other, competing and harmonising, mechanically looping above the awful remains of technocrats.” Limited qty of 50 copies Available now from the Bandcamp page Link in bio
