I'm very good at integral and differential calculus 🫡

What a city. What a terrific awesome city!

This trip would not have been the same without an amazing support group 💪🏼 Thank you truly to everyone who was such a good sport and thank you to our döner guy 💚

It's a shame I didn't get a chance to work with everyone in the program, but to those I did, I hope our paths may cross again!

Sophomore year is officially over! This year has been absolutely INCREDIBLE! I'm SO grateful to have been the bass soloist for a Bach cantata, a cover in In a Grove and Impressions of Pelleas, Lord Tirsi in 24, and Dr. Falke in Die Fledermaus! I've had the amazing opportunity to work with @timmy.long, @_schlau3.5, @octavio_director, @luckyjoelle, @lindsaywbaker, @alison_damato, @pjldiamond, and Wilson Southerland in the various operas this year, and studying with @joshuaconyersopera has been a blast as always. I'm looking forwards to doing it all over again next year!

We put the Herz in Schmerz

Mind you this was my very first official recital at Eastman and getting to share it with so many friends was so gratifying. Thank you to everyone who came and who helped it come to life in the back room of the Miller Center at the Eastman School of Music of the UNIVERSITY OF ROCHESTER.

I know I can't say it enough, but thank you to everyone who trusted me with this project and gave so much commitment to the bit, it is truly a gift to have such friends who are willing to dive in such a kooky idea as this (AND to contribute so much to helping the bit grow!)

Like I said at a late night rehearsal with Dominic the night before, "I've got a few kernels here, and we are going to pop them. Then we'll add the butter later." I admittedly can't say precisely what that quote symbolizes, but I know it will touch someone's soul.

Here's to the wins of today, and to the wins of the Eastman Yet To Come (Or: Eastman Future Imperfect Conditional)

The first day of classes, psychologically speaking, is more memorable than the other hundred or so. Scholars have not yet settled into a routine, and they may as be unfamiliar with the other citizens in their sections. In order to maintain civic morale during this time of adjustment, a select group of scholars, standing in for the community at large, have agreed to share their inward thoughts about today. We would like to thank the following members of our community, whose last names have been transformed into single letters to protect their privacy.

• Abigail “Dale” C.
• Hannah F.
• Alexandra “Alex” H.
• Gu Hong “Gu” W.
• Viviane “Viviane” K.

• Desmond M.

Highlights from a busy but fun semester! As we learned a lot about Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis and honed our conducting and German skills, I also enjoyed collaborating with other students on various projects and going on a number of expeditions. Difficult to believe we are halfway through our degrees!
