βœ¨πŸ“š 5 BOOKS I LOVED BEFORE BOOKSTAGRAM πŸ“šβœ¨ I’m feeling a little nostalgic today and started thinking about some of the books I loved back in the 2010s, way before I even knew Bookstagram existed. I remember being fresh out of college, finally earning my own money, and spending a good chunk of my paycheck on books. πŸ˜‚ Reading was my favorite escape back then, and honestly, not much has changed! These five books were some of my favorites during those years. No reviews to write, no reading goals to meet, and no expectations beyond simply enjoying a good book. It’s funny looking back because some of these books really shaped my taste in reading, while one of them even inspired me to start backpacking and exploring new places. I still have such fond memories of reading them, and I wonder how I’d feel about them if I picked them up again today. Passing this around so more folks can share their lists! πŸ’™ ❓ What’s a book that instantly takes you back to a particular time in your life?

βœ¨πŸ“š BOOKS EVERYONE SHOULD READ AT LEAST ONCE! Now, I know reading is subjective, and what’s a masterpiece to one person might be a DNF for another. But if I could convince everyone to give these five books a chance, I absolutely would! πŸ“– The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien πŸ“– Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb πŸ“– East of Eden by John Steinbeck πŸ“– Pachinko by Min Jin Lee πŸ“– Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry These books couldn’t be more different, but they all have a special place in my heart. Whether it’s their unforgettable characters, beautiful storytelling, or the way they explore the human experience, each one has left a lasting impression on me. Some broke my heart, some made me reflect on life, and others reminded me why I fell in love with reading in the first place. A little bookish challenge courtesy of @booksandbasilisks! I have been thinking about Bad Words by Rioghnach Robinson basically since I finished it a couple of weeks ago. Bad Words is a fantastic enemies to lovers contemporary romance about an aspiring writer who has been absolutely eviscerated by one of publishing’s harshest literary critics. I loved the romance, but it also had me deeply thinking about my account, my reviews and the way I make content. To be clear I am no literary critic. Just a girl with opinions. However when people are honest and authentic it inspires me to pick up books I wouldn’t maybe otherwise read. When a book changes a friends life or maybe they simply think a book is amazing and five stars, I am so much more inspired to pick that book up than reading a blurb or seeing book mail. So here are 3 friends who have made me add 3 books to my TBR lately. @swooningandstepbacks inspired me to read See You Next Tuesday by Kate Stayman-London, which I am listening to and loving! @a.novel.or.three inspired me to purchase Pachinko by Min Jin Lee after posting about American Hawgod. And @bookblurbist found my perfect book recommendation via @thevibewasbookish who recommended Lapvona by Ottessa Moshfegh because she knows Ramsay Bolton’s freak behavior is my brand of crazy. πŸ‚ Fall Leaves πŸ‚ I've been seeing so many lovely fall leaf stacks and flatlays, I kept debating if I wanted to join the fun. Then I was crunching my way along some lovely yellow leaves, and I was inspired to give it a whirl! The beautiful changing colors are one of my favorite parts of fall, I could stop and stare at pretty trees for ages. That was deep. That's gonna take another reading. I've reread it in October and here is the updated review: On my second reading, I feel like I enjoyed this even more. When I read this the first time I was totally baffled. I don't think my response to it has changed but it still feels utterly magical, completely transporting and captures something really special for me. I recommend going into this completely blind. It would be UTTERLY ruined if you know where it is going. Consequently, it's a really challenging book to review. I'd say that for me, this works on a deeply metaphorical level and I can come back to this and draw so many different meanings and levels out of it each time. It is quite simply an exquisite little novel that blows my mind with its achievement of both stark simplicity and luscious complexity all rolled into one. ❓Have you read this? It hits people in very different ways and I'd love to know what you think.
