Part Two of my work wardrobe staples! These are five more pieces I actually own, wear regularly, and reach for ALL THE TIME when I’m getting dressed for the office.

One thing I’ve learned after 20 years of working in corporate offices is that you really don’t need an enormous wardrobe to be well-dressed for work. You need the right pieces, and you need to know how to wear them.

I’m pretty particular about what earns a place in my work wardrobe. I want pieces that fit well, are comfortable, look polished, and can be worn multiple ways. And when I find something I love, I have absolutely no problem buying it in several colors. 😂

These five pieces are perfect examples:

1. Kick-flare pants. Comfortable, polished, and just as good with ballet flats as heels.
2. A lightweight merino wool sweater. I’ve worn these for years. They’re washable, not itchy, and lightweight enough for Texas weather. I own several colors and sizes.
3. An oversized button-down. I wear button-downs almost every day. A forever staple
4. Ballet flats. I wear flats almost every day. A great pair can make the simplest outfit more interesting.
5. A simple silk shell. I’m particular about necklines for the office, and this one has the higher crewneck I prefer. It’s silk, machine washable, and under $50.

None of these pieces is particularly complicated or groundbreaking. And that’s the point.

I don’t want to spend a lot of time thinking about what to wear every morning. I want to know my clothes fit, that they’re appropriate for whatever is on my calendar, and that I’ll be comfortable all day.

If you’re new here, I’m @tripstyled. I’ve spent 20 years working in corporate offices and 10 years in leadership, and I share what I’ve learned about navigating the unspoken corporate dress code. Every office is different, but knowing how to fit the room makes getting dressed so much easier.

You don’t need to reinvent your work wardrobe every season. Sometimes you just need to find the pieces that work and keep wearing them.

Comment SHOP and I’ll send you links to all five!
