🔥🍍 Artist Spotlight: Spike! 🍍🔥

We’re positively pumped to spotlight Spike, a bold and brilliant creative who transformed our “Dawn of the Pineapples” prompt into the fiery, fantastic “Pyromaniac Pineapple” 🔥🍍🔥

What began as a simple, silly sentence sparked a striking, standout success — proof that playful prompts + passionate pursuit = professional possibilities! ☀️

Spike’s path perfectly captures what Smiley Pineapple Press is all about: creating chances to shine through shared creativity and supportive collaboration 🥰🥰🥰

We’re so proud to celebrate her growing glow — cheers to more pineapple-powered progress! 💛🔥🍍

Please go send some supporting smiles to Spike: @a.spike 💛💛💛

pt.2 of my Travel Portfolio/Artist Book from Lacoste!

loved being able to do some collaging! since this was a travel portfolio, I saved eeeverything as we went around France, and during our trips to Barcelona and London. I also did some portrait sketching of strangers which was really fun, and then did some full figure drawings

my book also has work from the wonderful @kyrahogueart and @a.spike , who drew portraits of our entire class! one of my favorite parts of the book :)) will forever cherish the drawings and the sweet messages next to them (just for me!) 🫶 swipe to the end to see a polaroid from that class and the rest of the lovely portraits!

I used a @pentelofamerica Graph Gear 500 0.5 mm mechanical pencil for the drawings. For DRAW 341 - Travel Portfolio with Professor @ardenvonhaeger

⠀The people make the place.
For our final project in Travel Portfolio, @kyrahogueart and I collaborated on making a few gifts for everyone in our class.
Through lots of labor and love, we each created a portrait of everyone in the class, 13 hand-bound sketchbooks, and a mix-media illustration to serve as the cover. Each portrait was hidden before our presentation for everyone to ‘find themselves and their friends’ as we did during the time we spent together.
-
Thank you so much to everyone in that class for making this past quarter absolutely unforgettable. A special thank you to Prof. Arden Von Haeger for being one of the most supportive people we both have come to know.
