We want our girls growing up in an environment where strength training, athletic development and looking after their bodies are a normal part of becoming better footballers.

Not training differently because they’re girls. Training with purpose because they’re athletes.

⚡ Half-kneeling cable work → balance and control when planting and turning
💪 Shoulder-tap push-ups → stability and strength through contact
🏃‍♀️ Lunges → first-step speed and stronger, safer deceleration

As the girls’ game continues to grow, the environments around our young female players need to grow with it.

More opportunity. More education. More exposure to quality training on and off the pitch.

This is how our girls train at EVO. 💪🏼⚽

Save this for your next session 📲

Strength training only matters if it improves football performance.

By pairing resisted step-ups with explosive bodyweight step-ups, players develop the ability to produce force through the same movement pattern they’ll use when accelerating, changing direction and driving to the ball.

Build the strength. Then express it with speed.

Following their gym session, our High Performance players head to the pitch to develop speed and movement qualities through curved sprints, single-leg landing stability, and band-resisted accelerations.

Every exercise is designed to bridge the gap between the gym and match day, helping players become faster, more powerful, and more resilient.

Special thanks to Anthony Gugliotta BSc, ASCA, ESSA for leading our Strength & Conditioning program!

Our U15–U18 High Performance Players continues to raise the standard, with the latest round of strength and power testing showcasing the benefits of consistent, structured training.

Every testing block gives us valuable insight into how our athletes are adapting to their program. It allows us to individualise training loads, monitor development, and ensure each player is building the physical qualities needed to perform at a higher level.

The results are a reflection of the work being done week after week, turning up, trusting the process, and committing to long-term development.

Special thanks to Anthony Gugliotta for leading our Strength & Conditioning program and helping our players become stronger, faster, and more resilient athletes.

Term 2 strength testing gave our athletes the opportunity to see how far they’ve come across key physical qualities including strength, power, and athletic performance.

The numbers are encouraging, but the biggest takeaway is the consistent progression being made through quality coaching, structured programming and commitment to the process.

Testing isn’t about comparing players, it’s about tracking individual development and using objective data to guide the next phase of training.

𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘

Last night our Wednesday group on pitch focused on:

⚡️ Acceleration mechanics
⚡️ Change of direction in 1v1 scenarios
⚡️ Lateral speed & crossover movement
⚡️ Explosive power off the mark

The boys continue to show strong signs of improvement through consistent training, quality coaching, and a long-term approach to athletic development.

A key part of the program is managing the athlete, not just the session. Through ongoing load management and wellness monitoring, we can better support performance, recovery, and long-term development.

Special thanks to Anthony Gigliotta (ASCA Level 2 S&C Coach and ESSA AES), Bachelor of Science, for leading the physical development component of the program.

Special thanks to @itero_australia for supporting local football.

A full week dedicated to building better athletes — not just footballers.

From acceleration mechanics to force production, every session is designed with intent. Players are developing the physical tools needed to move faster, react quicker, and compete stronger.

Load is managed, intensity is purposeful, and outcomes are measurable. This is where performance is built — off the ball, before it shows on the pitch.

𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙥𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙚. 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚.

Our High Performance Program is built on applied sport science principles — developing athletes who can execute under pressure, at speed, and for longer.

Across this block, players have achieved measurable improvements in:

• ⚡️ Rate of Force Development (RFD) — faster, more explosive actions
• 🏃‍♂️ Acceleration & Max Velocity — sharper first steps, higher top speeds
• 🔄 Change of Direction Efficiency — improved agility & reactivity
• 🔋 Aerobic Capacity — sustaining high-intensity efforts across 90 minutes
• 💪 Strength Output — greater force production in key movement patterns
• 🧠 Decision-Making Under Fatigue — maintaining quality execution late in games

All outcomes are developed through an integrated approach — combining structured gym programming with high-speed, game-realistic pitch sessions.

This is how we prepare players to perform when it matters most.

Our U13 & U14 athletes stepping into performance testing with our S&C coach Anthony Gugliotta, focusing on the broad jump, a key indicator of lower body power.

This isn’t just about jumping further. It’s about understanding force production, coordination, and how efficiently players can transfer strength into explosive movement.

Data like this helps us individualise training, track progress, and build athletes who can physically match their technical ability.
