Homegrown at the table. A little Panama in every bite. ✨

We made our @nycwff debut at New York After Dark, presented by Airbnb and hosted by @chefkwameonwuachi , with music by @dnice

On the menu: golden Panamanian tortillas, sake-ginger braised short rib, apple-ginger gel, and red shiso sauce.

French technique. Diasporic soul.

To our clients: every gathering you’ve trusted us with has helped us grow into this moment. Thank you for inviting Homegrown into your celebrations, your workplaces, and your homes.

To our team: thank you for the care, skill, and heart you put into bringing this night to life.

And to everyone who stopped by for a bite, we loved sharing our table with you!

With gratitude,
Chef Janelle & Team Homegrown🫶🏾💓

Brooklyn girl. Panamanian roots. A moment I’ll never forget. ✨

My @nycwff debut at New York After Dark, presented by Airbnb, hosted by @chefkwameonwuachi with @dnice on the music—and Homegrown at the table.

I brought a piece of Panama with me: a golden Panamanian tortilla topped with sake-ginger braised short rib, apple-ginger gel, and red shiso. French technique. Diasporic soul.

There’s so much behind every bite, but seeing people come back for another, and a long line? That was everything!

To my team, everyone who stopped by, and everyone who made room for this moment: thank you, thank you, thank you! My heart is still so full! 💞💚

Still processing this one. Last week, @a21presents tapped me to manage and execute six events for @nycwff, and it felt a little like an out-of-body experience. After many years of planning events, this one was different: meeting the culinary heroes I’ve admired for so long, and eating like a king for a week. Not something I’ll forget anytime soon.

A few of the highlights below.

Another Incredible @nycwff Burger 🍔 Bash in the Books!
The 🍔 Bash is Truly one of my favorite days of the year and has been a very special chapter in my career. We Didn't win this year, but I couldn't be any happier for @yo.jaelee from @nowon.usa ! I called it before the Bash started and it was definitely his turn. His "Legendary 🍔" Is just that!!
Congrats to @gothamburgersocialclub and congrats on your second location in Williamsburg.
After winning the Burger 🍔 Bash a Record 8 times, (But who's counting 😜) I will say this - While the 🍔🏆's and the BIG ASS checks in my garage are fun, I am most grateful for the relationships along the way . So many people to mention but will name a few.
First of course @rachaelray & @leeschrager for creating the 🍔 Bash 19 years ago! @patlafrieda and his team for supplying everyone one with the 🍔's and so much more! Randy & Kali and the team @cream_it and Brett and his team @a21presents . Thanks to @bobbyflay @chefsymon @onkappysplate @boldfacednames @wtfeldman @laurenscala .
Thank you all for your friendships both professionally and personally along the way! Thanks to all my friends and family who show up year after year to support!
Most importantly, this is a Team sport and THANKS to my
🍔 Crew who has been there since the beginning as well as @rodolitz @chefconor @tonycarson @garyvee @cheflucasb & the entire crew @caponsburgers . We are just getting warmed up!
I am super excited about our 2nd location of Capon's 🍔's @bergentowncenternj as well as our 1st location at the magnificent @fontainebleaulasvegas with more on the way!

Come enjoy a 🍔 @caponsburgers where we are making the world a better place One 🍔 at a Time!

That’s a wrap on another incredible year at @nycwff.

Long hours on your feet, endless pivots, and every kind of operational challenge you can imagine—but there is nothing quite like watching an entire footprint come to life from a blank roof top to a culinary destination.

Closing it all out with The Cookout hits different. Food, music, and cultural roots coming together in one space showcasing flavors and traditions that make this country and city special. Method Man shutting it down on the stage against the Brooklyn Bridge was an experience.

Huge shoutout to my entire ops crew for grinding through every shift and making things happen without missing a beat. Shout out to @tknewyork and a21 for trusting me to command the rooftop zone this year.

Until next time, NYC.
